Right I don't remember that much of HoMM 5, but I'm pretty damn sure the answer is Talonguard. Which doesn't fit. In other words,

Stettin is an alternative name used by foreigners (you probably can guess why) and that's why TT wasn't hanged.

City is sometimes literally called "City of Griffin" ("Gród Gryfa") because it was ruled by House of Griffin and has Griffin in coat of arms. It was hometown of Catherine Gryphonheart the Great and also it is hometown... of mine. :D
