After really many attempts (more than 20) I finally installed WoG !
Still I'm not sure what was the problem, but I think that it was Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0.

Anyway, I will tell what I did:
1) Uninstalled Heroes 3 Complete and deleted 3DO folder
2) Run regedit and deleted all registry entries (related to Heroes 3 Complete)
3) Restarted Computer
4) Installed Heroes 3 Complete on C disk (it had about 1.1 GB of free space before installation), which is FAT32 (earlier it was installed on NTFS disk)
5) Installation path: C:\GAMES\3do\heroes3
6) Then I tried (3 times) to install WoG, which is downloaded from
http://hmm3.fclan.ru/main.php?t=0.032172765160591976#
and I got error
7) when I "Paused Protection" in "Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0" then I succesfully installed WoG (i.e. it was 4th (and the last) attempt).

NOTE: actually once I was able to successfully install WoG even when "Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0" protection was enabled (path was C:\GAMES\3do\heroes3)! Then all worked fine, but then I decided to investigate what was the problem and I uninstalled the game and was unable to install WoG again :D

I thought that I couldn't install WoG, because installation path was with spaces (i.e. C:\GAMES\3do\Heroes 3 Complete). So I tried to check it and again I got error (antivirus was enabled, registry entries was not cleared).
Later I installed HoMM3Compl to C:\GAMES\3do\Heroes3Complete and again got error (antivirus was enabled, registry entries was not cleared).
Later I installed HoMM3Compl to C:\GAMES\3do\Heroes3 all WoG was installed (antivirus was enabled, registry entries was not cleared), but when I opened h3wog.exe I was able to play only campaigns, not single scenario (when I pressed on single scenario I got some dump stack error and application was closed)

Later I did 1) - 7) and now all works!

Thank you doom3d for giving me hope to play the best game of the best!

Yes, it seems, that your antivirus software overreacted the fact, that the installer runs some things in dos mode, and also some others under win32.
Any application that runs others is potentially a virus. The same blocking problem may happen with firewalls.
I don't have any additional active antivirus or firewall solution on my PC (I am running Linux), and forget to mention this possibility.

Enhanced Commander artifact bonuses are completely disabled for hero after that getbasicprimary macro was used, until You click on something on hero screen.
Now we don't have hero screen during battle, and I wanted to use that in battle trigger.

So I have to use HE:F/1 instead. Also buggy, but faster.

I used this code for testing, & only Commander arties equipped:

HE:F returned different values before and after FU call, with various enhanced commander artifacts. Before FU: arti equipped, after: unequipped value.

I have tracked down FU calls. Result: FU454 called FU7038 to remove enhanced commander artifact bonuses.. and they are lost until You click on hero screen. Bugfix is coming very soon.

Getbasic passed x1 and x16 to FU7040, and that checked x1, X2 and x16.
So !!FU7040:Px1/0; should be used, instead of ..:Px1;

Some bugs and asking help

Hy there !
Love the wog mod even though is has some bugz :)
Some of them are like Rashka the infernal hero can't get ammo cart with WarMachines 1 script enabled, and I think Orrin gets a free lvl upgrades to the war machines if he has a comander (probably works only with the paladin)
I disable the artilery script becose I use WarMachines 1 script and with ogre leader they could get NASTY. Even though the artilery script is disabled TheBalistae do extra damage after the second shot. Is this intended, and if it is can someone tell me if theres a way to use WarMachines 1 that only give two shots to the balista not the extra dmg after the shots ?

Bug: Neither of the new chests works anymore in my game. I suppose there is some script I have enabled that is causing it, but I can't figure it out. It might be the Extra battle backgrounds one, or either of the Upgraded Monster scripts.

Enhanced War Machines III. - After a battle (and loosing all troops but commander) I have seen a 'division by zero' error, and all blacksmith became inaccesible. / v852 divided by y-7 /

I encountered a strange bug, and I find it strange that noone mentioned it, because I (and some friends of mine) encountered it on about 7 different PCs, with different OP systems, different hardware.
The error consists in freezeing the game. As far as I know it can only be found on non-multiplayer XL maps. After a month or two (in game), the game simply freezes during one of AI's turns. Reload or replay of the map doesn't help.

In the bugfixes post of Gaidal Cain I've found a place where it reads that in the 3.59 version will be fixed a bug which freezed the game when pressing the 'buy all creatures' button when having more then 998 creatures. Is this bug the same as mine? (Thus meaning that AI uses that function?) 'Cos beside the one I've told you, I never experienced the H3 to freeze.
And one more thing: I've encountered in 3.57f too.

I have encountered some freeze problems with certain scripts tured on. Namely the Death Chamber script. When I entered it, it started out fine, then after several turns the game froze and then crashed. I have turned the script off since, and now I have no crashes. The Death Chamber script is still too buggy IMO. Looks cool when you're inside, but.....

I can hardly think, that it's because of death chamber. If it freezes, then it freezes at every replay of that map around the same time, I don't know if the same day or not. And everytime, with the same player.
I've encountered other bugs and crashes, but I've learned to live with them, or to evade them. But this one is disturbing, 'cos I can't do anything against it, and makes unavalaible some of the best storybased maps.
But if turning DeathChamber option out will help, than I'll do it.

WoG is funny. It plays well with over 90 to 95 per cent of the maps out there. But on those 5 to 10 per cent, it just baffles the mind. For some unexpainable reason, WoG will just not play well with certain maps. And it's hard to put a finger on it, no matter how hard you try to fix the problem. It even baffled Fnord at times. And even Slava would try to see if he could remedy the matter by going into the guts of WoG. Zilch. Nada. I think it would make great tv for the Twilight Zone to be honest. :D

I think the Error factor it's logical.
Every decizion, has potential error in itself. And WoG has decizions for a lot of things, how you've said, for about 90-95 factor of the game.
So takeing those two in accout. It's not so surprising that there are so many bugs.
But hey... Let be optimistic. Someday I'll find out how to play those maps.

There really is'nt a lot of bugs in WoG as one may think. It's not bugproof to be sure, but overall, I still play it and enjoy it. The updated scripts have vastly improved the miss of bugs. One must remember, the less scripts you have on, the more cleaner the game plays. Sure, it would be nice to play the game with everything turned on, but it just does'nt happen that way. I've experimented with various scripts on and off and have the selections I like now that almost make my game bugless. Not all variations are the same for everyone, and you'll just have to find the ones you like for yourself.

Some bugs i have seen with commanders :

_ I've seen that if your commander have the choice to attack with range or melee . When an AI hero attack me, there is a message that this feature is disable for combat between humans and can't change the attack type . (in SG and MP games)

_ i like to play with enhanced commander . I use to level up my first hero commander with life , defense , speed and damage . As soon as i have the regeneration ability , i send the hero to explore only with the commander and no creatures and i've noticed these bugs :

__ AI players doesn't take in count the power of the commander and attack me ( as there is no creatures ) even if they are weak .

__ Sometimes the commander got an infinite pass . I click on defend and i still got the commander selected .

__ Sometimes the defense of the commander begin to decrease (by a number that can be from 1 to 10 ) until that reach -1 every time he is attacked by a monster . This happen to each combat after i notice it ( the defense always begin with the good value at the beginning of each combat ) . If i exit wog and reload the game , the bug is removed . I've not been able to notice the reason of that .

_ Two other little things that can kill a game :

__ i don't use the option week monster spawn stationary monster because that can prevent you to have an access to an island ... ie if there is an island with only one tile where you can go . A monster can prevent you to enter the island . Perhaps it is possible to prevent appearing monster to be summoned on a coast tile .

__ the same reason that replacing artifact can prevent you to have a quest or open a gate . When you select neutral town . Dwelling and town are replaced , but there can be some quest or gate with the conflux creatures . Perhaps reseting this option would be great if the map have this kind of quest or replace the conflux creatures with neutral creatures in the quests and gates ).

Does the list of fix in the first page in newly uploaded with 3.58f or uploaded somewhere . Or this is for the next patch ?

I have this problem in Unleashing the bloodthirsty. I think it's usually around month 8 but will sometimes happen earlier. I believe it's the dragon king or whatever his name is. I have finished this map but I've had to re-start many times. The last time I tried to use double movement option to get there quicker and that's when the crash happened earlier. Around the time I was getting close to dragon dude.

I've tried different script configurations and minimal scripts. I've read that there may be issues with H3 with this same issue but I've played it at least 3 times without wog with no problems.

As far as I recall, that's the only map I have any major problems with. I get crashese fairly often but they don't prevent me from finishing the map like the one noted above.

I'm not sure but I might be able to come up with a saved game if that would help.

Hi everyone,
I have same problem with my map. Game freezes On 2nd month during AI's :-( and I dont know how can I fix it. Can help me 3.58f Script update or is something new? How can I install it? Thanks for every help.

Reload as multiplayer - hotseat for affected AI player. It can help..

The Script Update should be installed, this is a crucial step. Copy file into update dir and run h3wogupd or something. The update it's bearing latest script fixes so it's more stable and smooth. A must be for any woggist.

I fixed it by removing that script from the events list, but I would like to see it implemented, is there anyone on these boards who can ban away the fog for me? :)

Haven't been much around lately, so I'm curious - sb still working on script updates for WoG?

Game is working fine in general, but there's still 1 bug which keeps annoying me: Tent does not resurrect when the remaing stack is at full health.

Most probably it was already reported, but this "bugs" me so much, it doesn't hurt to mention it twice. :p
