The original interface mod looks nice. I already have a solution that I made myself (replacing a bunch of LODs), and this looks like a cleaner and faster way of doing that. But my question is, how far does it go to restore the original interface? Does it only include the menu, or does it also affect the skill icons, resource icons, etc.?

It comes as binary file patch. I don't know what it restores, never installed it because I don't care about icons. Certainly the less interesting mod from the list.

To each his own :P But I'll have to try it out sometime. If I can get around to reinstalling WoG. The requirement of changing the locale while doing so is just silly :\

Locale? WoG?

Era does not need wog, only SoD/Complete edition. One of the first purposes was to get rid of WoG weird install process, as it often failed on recent OS. Now you double-click on installer, select game path, you're done.

All further modifications to the new created folder are handled by mod manager, like TES in Oblivion/Morrowind. Select a mod, turn on to play, turn off to disable.

The mod manager will also open everything you need, so you don't have to go in folder to select application anymore.

Oh, wow, I just read the thread at the top of this post, and it looks awesome! I never knew such a thing existed... I'll have to give it a try, then. By the way, how does it interface with HeroesHD?

I have no idea, never used it. You can ask in original HC thread, I am sure there is a solution to work with.

All right, tried this now. Some observations:
  • The HD mod works fine. It doesn't integrate with all the mod system of ERA, but it works fine. You can either save mod configuration and use the HD launcher, or save the HD configuration and use the ERA launcher.
  • The original interface mod seems to only returnt he main menu to the original, and nothing else. A pity, I'll have to use my own way of reverting all this, then.
  • It seems that it has a lot of new graphics (orcs, pikemen). Not sure how to revert those. I'll have to look at things like Yona, too.
  • Launching ERA without WOG results in a memory access violation and a crash.

I am not sure I understand this . Era will not work if wog installed, it needs clean SoD or Complete edition. We got a few reports about it not working on Win7, and I recall the solution was to run something in administrator mode, you know better as I still run XP (I am blessed)

I meant WOG as an ERA mod. If you try to launch ERA when WOG is disabled, you crash. And this was on a virtualised Windows XP.

This is like trying to run a car after taking out the engine. When you disable WoG mod in mod manager, you will get a warning that it is obligatory.

Yea, thought so. But that makes ERA just an upgraded variant of WOG. And it doesn't say it's obligatory, just that "you probably don't want to remove that".

Though it's still nice that in order to deWoGify the resources, now I need to remove things from the LOD files instead of adding things back.

You will be asked to select your game path, that's all. Usually is C:\Program Files\3DO\Heroes III or something like that.

Will This message be a problem? When I install it to any directory this pops up "The ordinal 3019 could not be located in the dynamic link library LIBEAY32.dll"

Place this in root directory:

http://wikisend.com/download/441250/libeay32.dll

Also Era must be installed in same folder as Heroes III.

Thanks for the links. Could you upload the mod "Heroines" again, cuz the link is dead.
