Help for Reverse engineering games

I'm beginning to use IDA Pro but it's extremely confusing for a complete newbie (I hadn't done assembly in ages, and it was for the mac)

Can you recommend any good forums/books/online resources?

A "reverse engineering programming" for dummies, if you will.
