I was playing network with Wog on TCP/IP connection and the computers freezed when having a battle against each other, never when fighting neutrals.
We then checked for latest patches and fixes on the problem after searching Google "WOG CRASH TCP", but it didn't help on the problem. We noticed the computers being much faster ingame after the patch/fix. We even abandoned henchman and tested a small map so we could fight each other early just to test if it worked. It was fine without henchman, commander was ok to use.
Then we played 4 hours... and finally met each other in a fight and... crashed when fighting with two armies with ballista skills - we have "Warfare I" turned on, and it crashed. We assumed Warfare doesn't work either.
Conclusion: Wog can't really be played on TCP/IP network, or you'd have to exlude a lot of things, I guess. Annoying. Any help?
