I need some advice

Postby cjleeagain » Nov 16 2020, 17:09

Dear Friends and Forum members

As I've said before, I paid for H7 vanilla. I never paid for extra content or expansion. Since I've lost my account, it would seem that I could either pay for H7 again (repulsive, but acceptable if there is a good deal that includes the expansion), or I should try hunting for cheap H7 account logins. I know there are some pirated versions available on rarbg, but I am a working adult and not some 13 year old on pocket money, so lets try to stay legit for now. Even if Ubisoft doesn't deserve my honesty and ethics since Ubisoft has none of its own.

I found this on the internet:
https://shopee.sg/Might---Magic--Heroes ... 4ZEALw_wcB

Is it a pirated version? I notice it says Offline Game with DVD.
I would definitely like a version that I could play offline without using Uplay, but I don't want to pay software pirates any money.

Then there is this
https://www.g2a.com/en-gb/might-magic-h ... 0001874008?
Price is pretty good. But when it says it must be activated on Ubisoft Connect, what does that mean? I googled and it says Ubisoft Connect is an improved version of Uplay. That does not sound comforting to me since I have had plenty of bad experiences with Uplay. Knowing Ubisoft, they might abandon support for Ubisoft Connect in future if they get bad feedback.
I am actually thinking the Software Pirates are better than Ubisoft Connect; at least they try to make the game playable without further complications.

Then there is this
https://www.kinguin.net/category/69233/ ... lay-cd-key
What the heck is the Full Pack? Does it include the expansion? The description is sparse, and doesn't seem to include the expansion, but claims it includes an additional hero (duh).

All feedback welcome. I am not familiar with gaming nowadays, so I'm kinda at a loss. But one thing I will never do, and that is pay Ubisoft a lot of money by paying full price at its online shop.

Maybe a bit odd question, but can you retrive your old Ubiplay account? Their support can help you. Ofc you need name/mail or name/phone perhaps.

Just getting a key is somewhat half legit and very cheap way to go. The seller offers you keys, which he scrambled somewhere and are therefore on sale..

It seems that there are no keys for main game + official expansion, however there will be Christmas. With a bith of patience you can probably get to 17€ officially.

And it explains how to use that activation.

Para ativar a chave, use as seguintes instruções:

1. Vá a: http://uplay.ubi.com e faça o download da aplicação Uplay.
2. Instale a aplicação Uplay no seu PC.
3. Inicie a aplicação, faça login com o seu nome de utilizador e palavra-chave (crie uma conta, se ainda não tiver nenhuma).
4. Por favor, siga estas instruções para activar uma nova compra no Uplay:
Clique no botão do Menu (≡)
Seleccione Activar o Produto
Siga as instruções que aparecem no ecrã para completar o processo.
Se tiver problemas com a ativação, contate-nos através do LiveChat ou crie um ticket.

Which means in a translation that you'll have to download and install Uplay, and use the Activate Product function either way. :disagree:

It's also ... more expansive than buying in Steam. Probably it follows dollar fluctuation, which Steam ignores at some point. It's almost 50% more expensive. But my region always have lower prices for games.

Hi Panda Tar, darn, there was a clickable link that showed all that info!

The Kinguin full pack seems pretty good. There is no mention of Heroes III HD, so maybe it is a regional thing where they package H3 also for Brazil (and charge more money) because it's really cheap, around 10 Euros, for my region.

Now I'll need to clear a lot of space from my HDD, but I think I'm gonna go with Kinguin's offer.

STOP...

I just decided to do a little check of Uplay's reviews online, because I am not comfortable with my games being at the mercy of Uplay...

And OMG

Look at this https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.uplay.com

90% bad reviews. The entire first page (scrolling down in reverse chronological order, meaning all the latest reviews) are uniformly bad. And these are not 'slightly bad' reviews. They're all 1-star reviews from different people with different problems, meaning the site doesn't just have one single bug.

Are you kidding me? It's still UCantPlay after all these years?

Ubisoft doesn't even seem to understand that they are so bad that they are now in competition with software pirates.

Software Pirates:
Unethical, socially irresponsible.
Free
No need to rely on Uplay. let you play offline.

Ubisxxt:
Unethical company that never delivers, irresponsible to its fans and customers
Expensive
Forces you to rely on their unreliable system, so sometimes you have time and want to play but cannot.
Don't even let you play offline even after you have activated a legit game.

Has anyone in the community come up with a crack that allows you to play a LEGIT version of H7 OFFLINE yet?

I have seen some references on ubisxxt's site about not needing to go online to play H7, but I remember I had to do that to play H7 all the same.

I have come across a Malaysian site that sells DVD cracked versions of H7.
The price suggests that this is pirated.
Am not going to give the link here because it might promote piracy.
I don't need to save this money. I can jolly well pay an honest price to the gamemakers. But you know what the problem is? It is that Software Pirates actually give you a game that doesn't rely on Uplay to play.

Yeah, that's a sad thing on itself. EA has that Origin stuff too, although it never failed me as Uplay did. I have a few games that require Uplay to work and I am putting them aside because it would be too bothersome to try and play them.

Regarding your question, maybe Antalyan can help you? He's a H7 enthusiast, works on a mod for a long while already, and might know more about that possibility. You could try and reach him. :) He's one that has never given up the game.
