I search a lot, but not found theme for this. If there was a long, things may have changed.
Excite me, who prefer a basic skills. For example, i like
Morality, Luck, Attack, Defense and Logistics, especially if a larger map ..
And you?

edit: Morality = Leadership

Morality? Do you mean leadership?

Personally - it depends on the race for me.

My sylvan build is usually built around imbue arrow/triple ballista/expert destructive, so I go attack, luck, destructive, logistics, war machines.

My necro build is built around using one stack of vampires to creep with summoning and dark - I usually take logistics, summoning, dark, enlightenment, sorcery.

Those are the only real races I play :-P i'm trying to expand my horizons.
I swear - by my life, and my love of it - that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.

Of course it depends on the race.

For Dungeon I like to get Destructive Magic (Summon sometimes if the enemy is stronghold - to prevent the Shatter skills from working), Enlightenment OR Sorcery (not both - although I prefer Enlightenment if it pops), Attack, sometimes Luck (to aim for Warlock's Luck), and Defense (if it pops up in 2% of the cases).

Hmm, I also take Logistics (but rarely) and Leadership (for Retribution)
No matter how powerful one becomes, there is always someone stronger. That's why I'm in a constant pursuit of power, so I can be prepared when an enemy tries to take advantage of me.

I have a weakness for mass spells. I just have to have them!

Although deep down I grudgingly admit that luck is a powerful skill, I don't like to use it, so it's not on the top of my list.

It depends on the faction and the hero build you are going for, but for Haven, which is my favored faction, I like Leadership and Attack big time. They open up to Divine Guidance as well as Retribution, and some other good complimentary skills. Logistics is pretty much a necessity, especially on larger maps, so that's on the top of the list too. Sometimes I will completely forgo taking a magic skill and go Defense as well. I can take Power of Endurance and Power of Speed for mass spells to further boost my troops. Otherwise it's usually a pick between Light or Dark.

I've recently experimented with Destructive magic as Knight because Haven is the one and only faction that can have both Cold Steel (+10% cold damage) and Fiery Wrath (+10% fire damage). Top it off with Retribution and you can have a pretty impressive army. Although destructive magic itself is obviously weak for Knight and being offered Destructive magic at all is uncommon.

Hmm

Haven: 1) Leadership 2) Logistics 3) Attack

Inferno: 1) Attack 2) War Machines 3) Enlightement (you get Miracles if you can get it)

Necropolis: 1) Dark Magic 2) Enlightement 3) Summoning Magic

Sylvan: 1) Luck 2)Logistics 3)Enlightement

Academy: 1) Enlightement 2) Sorcery 3) War Machines

Dungeon: 1) Destructive Magic 2) Luck 3) Sorcery

Fortress: 1) Defence 2) Leadership 3) Light Magic

Stronghold: 1) Attack 2) Logistics 3) Shatter Destructive

Overall, I think Enlightement and Luck are the best!
