Help for a newcomer

when encountering enemy groups who say they will join my army , and there is no room for them. I am told that i can " hold them in hero" .Could anybody please advise on where they go.Thank you.

If you don't have enough room in your army, you get the choice to either dismiss the creatures or replace it with some from your army.

Didmissed and removed units are removed from the game.
