Where are we now?

Unread postby Deadguy118 » 16 May 2008, 03:54

Where do you think the M&M series (and heroes) is going to go?
Will Ubisoft improve the series? Will they screw it up (more)? Will The M&M community have to rely on fan projects that may never get finished for the series to continue? Or will none of these work?

I may be a pessimist
Back from the dead? Maybe.

There's no fitting option for me; I do think there will be a new game, but the first two are extremes. I think it will be a good/great game, but not exceed all prior installments.

And where is the "Not better, not worse" option?
Anyway, voted for teh first one. H5 menaged to beat H3 in my eyes and that is optimisstic enough.
I am back and ready to... ready to... post things.

I agree that all the choices are too extreme, but it is more likely they will continue to screw it up than do better than JVC. I know that BDJ did a mod of MMVII, but until one of the major reworks of the game engine actually gets done; MMT is stalled and on life support, the warlords project is two years from completion and not an engine redo but Equlibris well who knows and so you have to question whether any will get done even with the dedication shown by those involved. So I voted number 2.

Err... Sorry. I never was one for middle ground.

Consider poll option 3 to also be: Ubisoft will make a game that doesn't suck but is inferior to NWC. If you feel like it.

I just feel frustrated that we ether have to rely on Ubi and possibly have a mediocre sequel or we have to rely on projects that may not see the light of day.
Back from the dead? Maybe.

That one I would have voted for as I think it is the most likely.

I haven't seen anything posted about their concept for a Might and Magic rpg so I'll reserve my judgement.
Frodo: "I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened."
Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

I'm afraid we are not going to see a new HoMM game. But if it happens eventually I expect it to be better than V.

Heroes 6: The Invasion of the Red Army.

It's going to be developed by a group of 30 year old Russian males who haven't stood up from their computer chairs since they were 16. There's going to be 9 factions.

Haven
Academy
Inferno
Sylvan
Necropolis
Dungeon
Stronghold
Fortress
Kremlin

The Kremlin faction is going to have planes and machine guns and ICBM's. Their leader, Vladimar Putin, single handedly walks up and kills Asha and Urgash, then the game ends.

Wow, you really have a thing against Russians eh?

After carefully reading alot of threads in which this so-called "blizzardboy" preaches his hatred of 30 year old Russians, I stumbled upon an epiphany (sp?): the guy's simply hilarious :D

Anyway, where's the "I dunno, it'll probably be a solid game, though it won't really stand out" option?
