How do I change a scenario map to a multiplayer(defeat all)?

Unread postby ronus03 » 15 Jan 2008, 15:28

I've been reading quite a few posts about people having problems about maps not showing up in the multiplayer/hotseat no matter which box is ticked.
The reason for that is, from my experience, the map is a scenario instead of defeat all or other goal objectives.
My question is, how do I change that?

Example:
Map: Mysthical Places
Size: Extra large
Can be human: 8
Teams: 4

Obviously, this map is intended for multiplayer use, but it still doesn't show up in the hotseat window.

A scenario map is a map that is only playable from one position and cannot be played in mp. A map that is playable from more than one position is automatically an mp map.

The map you cite as an example seems to be a fan-made map. Fan-made maps have to be placed into the Maps folder of the game you are playing (either Homm 5 or ToE; they are in separate program folders).
ZZZzzzz....

Thanks for the reply. I play ToE (How could you not? :D)
I do have the maps in the maps folder and they are playable in single mode, but many of these maps are relly well balanced and would be fun in MP. Is there really no way of changing this?

Err, even a single player game can have multiple starting positions.

To change singleplayer to multiplayer or vice versa have a look at

here. But note that in if there is something scripted on that map, then in multiplayer mode all effects of scripts are gone.
