I'd say dungeon but academy can also be very good. Grim raiders if puppeted can kill your hydra stack in 1 hit with luck and if they are allowed a second attack then not much will remain.

Actually I usually go for destr/enlightenment/sorcery, luck can be turned against you though warlock's luck is a tempting :D The first two skills are the only way for dungeon fast creeping.

Hit and run implies attacking with 7 single stalkers in different stack each, use invisibility and cast a few spells before retreating. As i said it can be risky if the opponent has curse of netherworld because you'll die in 1 cast invisible or not.

Necro's creeping was too fast in HoF, not anymore. And that was about the only imbalance it had.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I've actually played a game with Necro vs Dungeon in. We had a rule, that we don't attack each other just in the end.
Though it was H5 vanilla, I think I'll mention this thing. I won because of my Specters. First I didn't wanted to bring them, but after I got Haunt(at the half of the map), I managed to gather about 700 of them (and we really didn't had time to a long game). In fact I could have won without them I've had Puppet Mst., and some skellies, and some transformed creatures, but my friend wasted two strikes on Specters and that turned the fight in a disaster for him.
Of course, haunt is weaker in TotE, but still 500 Specters or Poltergeists can turn the tide, so watch out and good luck.

why not pick dwarfs?
never played with them
Big mistake! Just look at the Skillwheel, you pick:

Leadership + Runic Attunement (+2 Moral boost when you use a rune with a creature), if you pick and Recruitment you'll get and Divine Guidance;

Attack + Tactics + Offensive Formation + Retribution (which you can't get if you don't have Runic Attunement) = ouch.

Defense + Vitality + Defensive Formation + Preparation - here the things are starting to run realy bad for the hero against you... I mean, all you need to do is to place some units to obstruct some of them units or even just stand there and hit the defense button - it becomes f*ckin painfull here, and if you have Logistics with Pathfinding and Teleport Assault god knows what you can do :S

Soldier's Luck is AWESOME for the Blackbear Rider - some of his units may even not get into the battle at all :baby:

Perhaps in each of these cases the Light Magic is recommended ;) Guess I'll pick Master of Abjuration + Eternal Light and maybe master of Blessings :)

And here I shall ask if this Flamewave of the Flame Lord ever works

I've seen it work but only on a unit that was directly behind it, I wunna know how wide the wave is, or if it get's bigger the further away it goes, and how far away it still deals damage

untill then I'll stick with storm strike

alright just finished the game ... I won :)
Thanks all, I can elaborate if you wich but I had such a string of luck that my opponent at the end didn t even stand a chance.
Long story short : emerald sleepers + unicorn bow +22 black dragons >> 20 shadow dragons ....
It was a small map btw.. and I got dragon utopia, it was a total pwnage :)
I support(ed?) Nival... flame on !!!

22 black dragons >> 20 shadow dragons
Hmm.... true, you can win by this. But how much Skeleton Archer he has?
Ohh... small maps. Necro is nothing in quick game.

BTW, what's his army vs. your army in the final battle? I mean, how many unit for each creatures. And what's ur hero's level vs. his?
