Dilemma

Unread postby sisko » 27 Jun 2007, 15:03

I have a dilemma and i'm wondering how you handle this.

The dilemma is as follows:
Soon Ubisoft is releasing the second expansion to HOMM V, a pretty decent one as far as i can tell with enough new things to enjoy.

On the other hand , very soon also the second XP to CIV IV will be released, which i believe to be the largest XP ever created(in regards to added stuff. It's at least twice as big as warlords, the 1st civ XP.)

I want both, but only have time to play one.
Is it a bad decision marketing wise to release these two so close to eachother, and for which XP would you go, providing you want them both offcourse.

Right now i have to admit the civ xp is higher on my list.

Can you rename this when I saw XP I thought it was an OS question XP vs Vista. Also I did not see a Tribes only option.

It's the Tribes of the East (Don't like Civ IV) option.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

But I like Civ IV, but may not buy the XP. Renaming is not that important, as you do explain it.

I'm thinking about buying Civ4 but it still seems expensive for an older game.

Ah :D I'd choose the first one then, if you really like civ iv, you will eventually want to buy Beyond the Sword, trust me B-)

Ok you win, though it is unlikely that I will buy the XP for Civ IV. :)

i don't know where you shop, but you can get civ 4 + 1st xp for the price of a normal game, and have you seen the things added in the second xp? http://www.civfanatics.com/

Fair enough. But anything between the brackets should be taken lightly anyway :D , i mean, who is going to vote for the (i don't like homm) choice. It just means you won't buy tribes in that case.

I saw it at Target (GotY edition) for $39.99 US. Good deal?

You mean CIV4? Then it's cheaper than I bought it, though now the site where I got it from lowered the price. Hmm, and it's strange, BtS costs the exact same as Civ4 :| Kinda too much, if you ask me...

Anyhow, I'll buy BtS looong before TotE or even HoF.

I don't know.. 39.99 just seems a lot for an "old" game. But I guess if it's good....

I agree 39.99 is too much for an expansion, which led to my comment in another thread that I would only buy Tribes if it was priced like an expansion to me that's in the 29.99 range.

Well the price I quoted is for the original game plus first expansion. So maybe it's not so bad...
