About devils and demons

Devils originate from the Infernal plane, and are traditionally lawful evil beings. The origin of Devils are the traditional christian mythological beings, like Lucipher, the fallen Angel, and the Devils are thus directly opposed to the Angels. The Infernal plane is also what is commonly refered to as "Hell".

*Refer to first upg set*Fiery Devils*

Demons on the other hand originate in the Abysmal plane, and are chaotic evil beings. Demons can be considered destructive incarnations of various aspects of nature - that can be Ice Demons, Fire Demons, Spider Demons, or something else.

*Refer to second, new upg set*Smoggy Demons*

The two species, albeit somewhat similar, are neither related nor allied.

they are overburned but kinda cool

seduce will probably be = puppet master only succubus will need to come close to target, leap may be something like this (what demon can't reach by regular movement can useing leap but with weaker dmg.

but I 'am puzzled over Three-headed Attack with fire breath. Is it from each head or only through creature you attacked (hope you get my meaning)

Looking at the stats I will say:

Quasits: They are monsters: Huge Damage Output, if combined with bless and/or Battle Frenzy.
Siphon Mana surely must be weaker that the mana transfer of the familiars.

Horned Leapers are even more pathetic than their counterparts now with much lesser defense. I don't see them too viable.
Maybe leap could allow them a one time move anywhere on the battlefield. That would be cool.

Firebreather Hound: Now these guys sound way better than Cerberi. They have only 1 point less damage but in addition gained firebreath. If that is like the one of a dragon it's more than enough. If it goes 3 ways it's even imba

Succubus Seducer: I don't know about this. It's clearly weaker than the other one in terms of damage, but if seduce is like puppet master then it's pretty strong... especially with one stack abuses....

HellMare: the name completely sucks. As for the skills she seems on par with the other one. One less point in init is compensated by some extra damage. Still, I do not like the loss of defense. That searing aura shoud compensate.

Pit Spawn: CHECK OUT THE ATTACK OF THAT ONE: 27... that's crazy... these are monsters. That with axe of slaughter makes them really really feared imo. 140HP now, and 6 speed(that's +2 bonus) Add teleport attack to compensate the low init and you've got yourself an unstopable killer.

Arch Demon: Nothing new really... the same shitty unit devils are in H5.

I have to notice a decrease in prices of lvl 7 units. I find this a good thing.

Another Arch unit, how groovy. And you have to love the Firebreather Hound ! Is he available for parties? The rest of the names are actually not bad... how weird.

Yeah but wouldnt that mean we always go for the new upg just because of the price? I think at least a small price reduction for the basic and original upgrades for the 7 lvl units would be in order as well.

They could also lower the stats of the level 7 units to keep the original upgrades a viable option

i think the original upgrades will cost less too... it doesn't make sense otherwise... it's something like a 1000 gold save

But we already have Druid Elder and Ancient Treant... And it's not like Demons respect older demons... They would rather kill them instead

Here's a question: Why the hell don't they also release an explanation with the new abilities... this really sucks. I mean why keep people guessing?

the arch demon name has to go
firebreath is a bad choice for the hound, which also is just a darker cerberus

Thanks for posting the thread, Orfinn!

I know, its wicked to give us the names of the abilities without their respective meanings. But otherwise I must say I find quite an intelligent marketing strategy to turn public each faction alternative upgrades once a week.

And despite the eventual pessimistic comments, I do think these new upgrades open a whole new branch of strategies (and counter-strategies) for each faction.

Gosh, Pit Spawn as a melee ripper. I GOTTA SEE THIS!

'cause it's to soon to tell us all the info about the game... We'll start making strategies and maybe some mods to fill the hole until the expansion and there is some charm in this ... you can use your imagination

Also there is a possibility that Ubival wants to see our ideas on abilities so maybe can use ours instead of theirs... ? ...
