Very disappointed the Game

Unread postby jarkki » 23 Feb 2007, 15:01

I'm just playing a generated game, but the thinking time of opposite forces are awul. I have calculated it last 5 turns and it's between 4 to 6 minutes.

My machine is quite capable. I have intel dual core and nvidia 7950 Gt.

:devious:

Try playing a smaller game than the "too big for you setting."

I think there are a few major causes of the AI taking a long time.

1) It gets the dimension door spell.

2) There is a lot of animation (ie trees) on the map.

3) And possibly there are a lot of open paths for the AI. A map with choke points reduces the amount of choices the AI has to make about where to go.

Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

Why on earth would u play against a comp that takes so long and will never be as competent as a human opponent , go play online! play against a THINKING human who might take shorter time might be longer but for sure will give you a real genuine challenge

This was my biggest complaint too. Does 2.1 help?

Barely... :(

The AI is still rather slow in most situations...

I think so, haven't played the game since 2.1 since mods don't work and no good modder can explain in non-nerd speak how to make em work again

For normal maps it runs pretty smoothly for me.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.
