"Yeti" in the game

Unread postby Amis » 29 Nov 2006, 18:25

I played a randomly generated map with sylvan. When played for a while I saw peasants guarding a sulphur mine, but when right-clicking them there was an artifact as an icon and the creature was named yeti. In combat, there were wolves instead of yeties, but they had the stats of yeti (same speed, initiative, agility etc.), and they didn't use howl.

Has someone else seen this before? ;|

Well the yeti was removed from the game, but what you described sounds like it went back in somehow. Are you using any mods that might have triggered this?I read somewhere that people forced yeti back into the game, and they described the same thing you did.

ya know, i just saw something similar:

I had a 'week of the salamander'...

which spawned fire dragons all over the map, but the stacks actually were peasants on the adventure map. rt-clicking on them showed them to be fire dragons (in disguise?).

yeah, still some bugs i think.

A guy at HC that experienced the yeti bug was using the cleric, treant and dread knight mods.It could of course be unrelated.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

hmm, interesting.

I'll disable those in the next map i try (I use the cleric, gargoyle, and dark knight mods), and see if the inappropriate peasant models disappear.

it's just that I don't see the model replacement all the time, so it might not be conclusive.

I'm not using any mod, just Hof.
I used a template when I was creating the map, but chose it randomly and don't know what it did.

well, the inconsistent nature of it highly suggests a bug in the model generation code.

if it were really due to any mods, the errors should be more consistent.

If I see it one more time, I think it would be worth reporting as a bug.

It's the same situation I've had trying the map generator (i'm not using mods), so I think is it's a a RMG bug.

bye :)
