Unread postby Sir_Toejam » 28 Nov 2006, 03:45

here's one for ya:

I opened the HOF map editor for the first time just now, quit it, and when I run HOF, it no longer runs full screen.

whee!

you're missing the point;

why did the editor change my .cfg file to begin with?

yeah, I knew what had happened, and it was easy enough to fix right off, but how on earth could that kind of thing have fallen through the cracks?

i swear, their beta testing team must be high most of the time.

Beta testing team? Ha I beat TT to it.

That didn't happen to me but I wouldn't know how to fix it if it did. Well maybe I do now.

Yeah, that won't work for me because fullscreen is set to 1 already.

Welcome to the forums, Deymus! ;)
I was under the impression that we were the beta testing team.
:rofl::rofl:

I don't even know what to say about Nival anymore... (I just hope 1.5/2.1 fixes a lot of the bugs ). Please Nival? :beg:

If I can't figure this out I'm just going to reinstall...this is driving me crazy because I know it's something insanely easy/simple to do.

When I launch HoF, my Windows Task Bar shows at the bottom of the screen. I just click on the Heroes 5 HoF Icon; then it goes to full-screen and the sound comes on.

I'm not sure this is what you're experiencing, but it never used to do that at first … until I opened the Map Editor. Try just clicking on the Heroes 5 Icon in the Task Bar and see if that doesn't take you into full-screen. ;| I hope this helps.

Are you sure you looked at HOF profile ? Because it is not the same which was used in original game (and the old one is still on disk).

Both have fullscreen set to 1 and hitting the H5HoF icon doesn't make the game go back to fullscreen either. I'm not sure what's wrong with this game :|

Meh, maybe I'll just switch the in-game resolution to match my desktop's (1600x1200). I left it at default because while playing the regular version of Heroes 5, the game would just randomly crash for no reason whatsoever. So after installing HoF I just left everything at default and starting playing just to see if I would be able to actually play.

8| 1600x1200?! Wow, If I tried that, I think my computer would explode :).

Maybe you should drop your desktop resolution and see if it helps. :)

I do the same thing on my resolution. 1600x1200 Homm5 looks great... if a bit slow on certain turns with IT turned on. :mad:

I tried turning down the resolution to see if it sped up the AI turns but it was useless. So I made it pretty again. :-D

I can imagine (the most I've played it on is 1024x768 :( ). At resolutions higher than that...well let's just say it gets nasty! :-D

Well I just recently upgraded my pc so I could play Vanguard when it releases, but it's nice to be able to play HoMM5 at high resolutions and not have the game slow down.

Another thing I've noticed about the RMG is that with larger map sizes it tries to place a dragon utopia in every player's area. WTF is up with that? This thing is seriously messed up. I think a few more weeks of debugging would have been worth the wait.

I've got the same issue. Though it isn't a major problem for me, it is still annoying to see how many things Nival screws up when they want to fix or introduce something new in/to their game.
