Favorite Fortress creature?

Unread postby erased. over. out » 25 Nov 2006, 20:21

Hey guys. Some of us have been playing HoF for some time now, so I was wondering if you had a favorite Fortress creature. Please vote amongst the upgraded units. Who would you bring back to mom/dad? Ok, that was lame... ;|

Magma dragon looks really good and is very strong, as well, so it gets my vote.

If it were not for the dragon, I'd have voted for none, really, because to be honest, the faction is quite boring, with each unit being dwarf this or that.

I was so annoyed when I first saw the Fortress units:

6 of them were pure dwarven units, that even were hard to distinguish from each other. Their icons are almost identical
But then there at least were 1 non-dwarvish unit, and know what: a DRAGON?!

Nival sucks when it comes to imagination!

They all seem fairly weak to me, actually. And the dragon? No wings? More like a giant fire lizard or yeah, godzilla. I am actually pretty disappointed by the whole faction. :|

I would've rather they nerfed the dragon and made it the 6 and strenghtened the warlord and made it the 7, but otherwise I think the units make sense. They're all dwarves? Well, it's a dwarf town. sheesh.

I voted blackbear rider.

You can get them early and with the rune of charge and their paw strike special they remain useful throughout the game. They mesh very well with skirmishers. :)

And Sylvan and Dungeon are elven and dark elven towns, respectively, so...Well, you get my drift.

And what about Academy? Shouldn't all its troops be comprised of one kind of scholarly type or another? Let's toss some ideas around. So...we have the mage, then we have the...err...Mage youngling, not as proficient with spells (yet), but more agile. How about a Sporty Mage, who likes to spend his time in the outdoors when he is not buried in tomes of lore and who flings magic imbued bowling balls, boomerangs and what have you, or intimidates his opponent by beating him in a match of table tennis, thus severely lowering their morale. And as a 7th level creature we could have the....*drum roll* Dragon Mage (what else - Titans are so dull, plus the mages are by default male, so none of its troops should look as if they're in need of a brassiere), who leaves all of his adversaries on the field in awe of its immense knowledge.

Hardy har har. :D

What i'd like to see is the Negroid and Mongoloid towns. Why do only the Caucasoids get a town when the Elves get two?!
