marksman: righteous might or bless?

Unread postby rust888 » 21 Nov 2006, 22:26

always wondered;

which one do you guys usually go with? righteous might to increase their attk? or bless to increase their damage (which has a pretty big range; 2-8)

which spell would result in more damage?

well each attack point adds 5% to damage, so 12 attack from expert bloodlust will add 5 * 12 = 70% more damage. So one archer versus somebodu with the same initial defense as his attack would now do
2-8 * 170% ... that means 3.4 - 13.6 damage... with an average of 8.5
Bless would ensure 8 damage... so if I did this right Righteus might is stronger, but still it has a certain random factor, nothing stops that you would get 3.4 damage on a hit...

Actually its 60% more.

Bless would result in slightly more damage (on average), and because Bless is cheaper to cast i choose it. Furthermore with bless you are sure of how much you kill, an information that is handy at times.

Bless -> 8 damage per marksmen
RM -> 3-12 damage per marksmen (7.5 on average)

Speaking of Marksmen, there is now an artifact bow that removes the range penalty. Does anyone know whether this also extends the Marksman special?

Why should it?Their range is more than the range for point blank shot.

Actually your wrong it is 60% more damage but it will be
2*1.6 - 8*1.6 = 3.2 - 12.8 which will mean a 8 average as opposed to 8 constant with bless.

No reason for the extend , it only says negates penalty and that has nothing to do with their special.
