Big huge glitch!

Unread postby The Mad Dragon » 21 Nov 2006, 19:39

I'm at the last castle for Inferno Campaign Mission 3. It's the final moments of the battle. I'm down to 2 Treants and some Raise Dead Archers. My Treants get killed, but my archers kill my opponent's Unicorns. I win the battle, but apparantly, lose the mission.

HOW CAN I LOSE THE MISSION WHEN I HAVE WON THE FRAEKING BATTLE AND CAPTURED THE LAST DAMN CASTLE?????

If you lose all your regular troops, you still lose.

easy... the game first checked if you lost your hero and then if you accomplished the scenario requirement...
So... load autosave and play the battle again... and don't lose this time :p

That's retarded. I completed all the objectives, and I still lose. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I am so damn sick and tired of doing this damn freaking mission over and over again.

IIRC, raised units do not count in the end as to whether you had enough units left.

bug or feature, regardless, if both you and the AI lose all your units, the game gives the victory to the AI.

as to getting past the mission, uh, you are saving before you enter that battle, right?

if it all becomes too much for you, you can simply use the cheat codes to either give you more troops, or simply use the code to just win the scenario.

I don't do auto-save as it takes too much time to save when doing it every day.

just load the autosave one day back and stop complaining so much ;)

you should see when the game really has a bug... like artifacts that are needed to continue the plot don't appear, or even if all conditions are met you don't win... then you'll really apreciate this game...

But until then...

I told you. I don't auto-save. It takes too long to save everyday and wastes my game playing time.

in fact... I think you win, but both heroes are considered dead and you'll have to hire yours from the tavern.. you still get the experience though...

Not when the Hero you attack with is the one that needs to stay alive.

You can hire your hero only if you are in town when both heroes lose.Otherwise the attacker hero is lost.I remember this one time with academy and raise dead that I lost my hero and won the battle only to rehire her and lvl up :)
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

And replaying the map doesn't? It's a good idea to make a habit of saving regularly, you know.

Not too mention auto-saving creates an additional file for each day, thus taking up space. If I'm playing the map and am into the 3rd month, thats way too many files.

dang it, simply save each week or just before a critical battle. If you've played this map a few times already it can't be that hard to see that it might save a lot of time to do so once in a while

I have played all versions and even in 1.4 the number of my autosaves remains 3.Either it's a bug or not all are autosaves. My money is on quicksaves.

Edit:
Yes the map is difficult and more than most that will follow. But he only has one town, just buy all creatures from your towns and take him down.
