EDIT LATER: according to Fabrice (see a few posts below), these numbers are not final and should not be taken seriously

Supported OS: Windows® 2000/XP (only)
Processor: Pentium® 4 or AMD AthlonTM 1.5 GHz (Pentium® 4 2.4 GHz recommended)
RAM: 512 MB (1 GB recommended)
Video Card: DirectX® 9 compliant w/ 64MB RAM (128 MB recommended)
Sound Card: DirectX® 9 compliant
DirectX Version: DirectX® 9 or higher (included on disc)
CD-ROM: 4X CD-Rom or better
Hard Drive Space: 2+ GB
Multiplay: Broadband internet connection

They may be an estimate, not final, but still... authentic enough to be considered seriously.

PS. thanks to Crislevin for the link in our old forum

512 MB is a lot for a strategy game, but I'm not really surprised. What is most unusual is that this is the first Heroes game to require a broadband connection. Will we need to be connected to the Net to play a single-player campaign?
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

Actually it says:

Multiplay: Broadband internet connection

So it's probably not needed to play Singleplayer.

Like i said in the old forum the reqs seem kinda big for a game that based on the videos looks like Warcraft III. 8|
Hopefully they're the reqs for it to work with everything at max (like leaves and birds flying around on the map) and there will be a way to turn off those things! :D

I really need to invest in more RAM. 512 just feels inadequate in this day and age.

I think that thoose requisites are pretty normal for this year games, all of us have thoose (or most of them).

The most extrange is that it requires a cd not a dvd 8| .

Great, u understand how disappointed I felt when I first find these information, ive been waiting for so long and can not believe those junk info. I would sure buy one if my machine can run it. Amazon.com has already put it on pre-order.

Thanks for the information. :)

Fortunately I recently purchased a new machine so I'd meet the posted requirements anyways.

I'll have to consider giving in and geting DSL to play multiplayer though since my tower is only equiped with dial up and a crystal ball, neither of which appear to be supported for multiplayer, if broadband part was correct.

GOW

consider Warcraft III's sys req:
# Windows® 98/ME/2000/XP:
# 400 MHz Pentium II or equivalent (600 MHz recommended)
# 128 MB of RAM (256 MB recommended)
# 8 MB 3D video card (TNT, i810, Voodoo 3, Rage 128 equivalent or better) with DirectX® 8.1 support (32 MB recommended)
# 700 MB HD space
# 4X CD-ROM drive

I would propose for HoMM V as: :D :hoo:
# Windows® 98/ME/2000/XP:
# 800 MHz Pentium III or equivalent (1GHz recommended)
# 256 MB of RAM (396 MB recommended)
# 32 MB 3D video card with DirectX® 8.1 support (64 MB recommended)
# 1.5 GB HD space
# 4X DVD-ROM drive

# 1.7 GHz Pentiun 4
# 512 MB of Ram
# 128 MB 3D video card with DirectX 9.0c
# 2+ Gb HD space

They may have simular style but the graphics are more advanced in Heroes 5 than in Warcraft 3.

Look around playing warcraft III you see that everything from units to rocks and trees have very low polygon count. That is what makes it so easy on the system. The reason why Warcraft III manages to look as good as it does is because Blizzard has made an outstanding use of textures.

Heroes V has higher polygon count but on the other hand looks much better, especially up close. Here take a look...

For example:
Warcraft3: http://www.gamespace.co.za/wc3/images/f ... hoenix.jpg
HeroesV: http://www.celestialheavens.com/images/ ... reen01.jpg

I'm just saying that the reqs. should be higher for Heroes V than for Warcraft III but I think the ones listed are too high.

It may have more polygons, but still i was saying that it's like an upgrades Warcraft 3, so the reqs are too high! Seeing how much time has passed since War3 it better look better. 8|
