A sequel poll... Who is your favorite MP hero... or if you don't have a favorite who do you think is the best?

Here are the skills:

Laszlo - Basic Counterstrike, Basic Defense, Vitality
Ellaine - Basic Counterstrike, Basic Leadership, Recruitment
Dougal - Basic Counterstrike, Basic Attack, Archery
Klaus - Basic Counterstrike, Retaliation Strike, Basic Attack
Irina - Basic Counterstrike, Basic Luck, Magic Resistance
Maeve - Basic Counterstrike, Basic Leadership, Basic Attack

You may also post your skill builds with the specific hero...

That would be Irina.I always liked luck but there is this griffin specialty too B-) Implies that she has a soft side for animals and especially the griffin that is a key unit for me.The battle dive addition to unupgraded griffins is amazing.
As best hero I'd say Maeve and Dougal.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

maeve is not so strong, well haste is usefull but not as much as slow...
Dougal , is obviously the most overpowered hero of Heroes, but the problem lies in training, so if they fix training, it will be between rutger and klaus
I support(ed?) Nival... flame on !!!
The truth pure and simple is seldom pure and never simple...

I said so because she has haven's key skills and a specialty in haste cannot be overlooked ;) Sometimes you don't even get haste.

I also vote for Maeve even though she may not get Light magic.

Haste plus Leadership on Griffins: well, why bother using Battle Dive if you can get five attacks to the enemies one?

Aura of Swiftness, Haste and Retribution on Paladins: you can spend one attack just to get max joust return on your Haste investment.

Haste on Priests: I've never really liked these guys until I started using them as Infantry. Why do these guys have so many hps anyway?

Angels: Well, you can see the pattern by now.

And two words to top them all: Mass Haste.

The only real down side is that you don't get much help from the low Iniative Ranged attackers.

As for a build, I recommend Attack to Retribution, Leadership to Aura of Swiftness, Logistics with Familar Ground {Never too much speed}, Light magic with Wrath and Enlightenment for obvious reasons. Otherwise, I recommend Luck.

I never understand how this Haste special works.

A 1 % increase / level, does that means at level 20 Maeve's army get to has 20% more initiative ? How much initiative you'll get from ordinary Haste ? Is that significant increase from ordinary Haste ? Does her own initiative goes higher as well ?

Expert haste is 40% and Maeve adds 20% to it at level 20 for a total of 60%. A iniative of base 10 would be increased to 16 and 15 to 24, rather than 14 and 21.

My conclusion would be that if you like archers, swordsmen and priests, Maeve is not the way to go as they have a low iniative and Maeve won't help them that much. But if you like griffins, paladins and angels, then the extra % makes a big difference.

Well... I prefer all of them.. :D
I voted Dougal... since right now he is very strong... hope that training wouldn't get too nerfed in the following expansions

I favour luck over logistics. The reason?
Leadersip and a specialty in haste(usually mass) ensures high initiative and more actions. If you also have luck you have more chances for lucky attacks that also double the bonus of retribution.Seems crazy enough for me! :D
Also you have stables that can help you.

I like Dougal the most. He is the best hero for my special tactic ;) Sometimes I also take Vittorio.
