Beta Risk

Unread postby slakinator » 26 Aug 2006, 22:27

whatever you may say about the beta, i overwrote my files for the map editor and omg...

nothing happened.

beta editor ran fine, very easy to use UI setup aswell, i would post a map but i wouldnt want to offend ne1 who is opposed to using beta programs. ban me if you wish for i am a heretic, and i have intruded upon your forbidden desires to exploit a leak. beta leaks sometimes are planned if you have forgotten, its an often used ploy by producers to satisfy fans.

Oh stop being so self-rightious, that's my job.

If they allowed the link it would seem as they support piracy and sht.

sorry about my facetiousness, i was a little miffed about how the mods responded when i said people could email me... its like saying, "I'm a drug dealer,im on the corner" on a forum, and the fbi coming after you just because you siad you were willing to give stuff out

That's not the mods business. No warez links in the threads means no warez links in the threads. And no straight up mention of getting people warez links either. No point in giving the forum a bad name when there are plenty of other ways to get what you want.

warez - Widely used to denote cracked or pirate versions of commercial software. In other words, illegal pirated software.
pirated - Copyright infringement is the unauthorized use of copyrighted material in a manner that violates one of the copyright owner's exclusive rights, such as the right to reproduce or perform the copyrighted work, or to make derivative works that build upon it.
where in any of that does the editor fall into?

not to disagree withya titan, but ... its not like we have 50 new visitors every day... so its not like we have a bad rep. the members are the only ones who really read every post.

A leaked copy of the beta map editor falls directly into "pirated." We do not allow people to discuss or facilitate pirated software here. Period.

and indeed to me too, i'm not opposed to the beta being out there for people to use, and indeed it's good to know it works, but there are some thorny legal issues involved

Dude, we have a policy here. It's our policy and we're allowed to enforce it. If you don't like our rules, go elsewhere. Period.

Locked.
