Windowed Mode

Is it possible to run HoMM V in Windowed mode?

I don't think so. They recommend you not run anything else when you play it, so it's unlikely. But I do not know for sure. :)

Go into your user.cfg file found in My Documents and change

setvar gfx_fullscreen = 1

to, yep, you guessed it:

setvar gfx_fullscreen = 0

Call me a noob, and I don't know if this will help, but I only recently discovered that if you press the "Windows" key on the keyboard, heroes is minimised and you have the desk top available. :S

I find it ideal for msn / yahoo when the other person takes a while to answer, also for accessing the wonderful HV manual I have downloaded but not printed out ;|

Im not looking to minimize the game :p but to play it in windowed mode.... the Fullscreen = 0 Doesnt make it in windowed mode :(

i could have sworn i saw an option for running windowed mode...

You have to run it at a resolution smaller than your desktop resolution. It will run in windowed mode, but it won't show the windows menu bar at the top. You still have to press Alt+Tab to get to your other windows.

Its not windowed mode though, its just not fullscreen. There is a huge difference. Thanks for the suggestion though. :D

no, if you run in lower resolution than your screen, it just gets all fuzzy but still fullscreen. im pretty sure that i saw an option once for playing in windoewd, but maybe that was just in the demo...
