So let's discuss the names of the towns and kingdoms. Most of the names are probably just made up (i.e. Nar Ankan, Syrus Thala, Ygg Chal etc.), though some of them have some meaning. Talonguard - obviously it's meant to honor the Griffin, also means its proteced by them or similar , Holly Griffin Empire - named after the first king. Al-Safir - from Saphire, maybe a simbolic gem for the wizards, Silver Cities - perhaps there's plenty of Silver in the desert and they used alot of it in their cities. Now Irollan, is that an actual name of some location, or maybe copied or something? In Dungeon Siege 2 (maybe other games too) there's Eirulan, the Dryad (nature dwellers) town, and now theres Irollan, the elf (also nature dwellers) kingdom. I guess it's a matter on how you think its written, because it's pronounced almost the same. So is there some mythical nature town, or did someone copy off someone else's ideas?
This post was mainly about Irollan (Eirulan), but it can be used to discuss the other names too.
