Something that could be really easy to implement and a cool feature would be a Hero's battle area. Where at any time during a game you could save a hero to say 1 of 10 slots in a battle area. Then from the main menu you would have a BATTLE ARENA option, were you could enter two of your heros into a fight.
This way when you finish games you could have your toughest heros battle each other. I'm playing the maps on all the hardest settings and still winning relatively easy so I would really like to see how my level 28 Haven hero would stack up against my level 26 Necropolis hero.
I bet these battles would last like a half hour, cause my Necroplis hero has 110 knowledge and can use raise dead about 15 times with about 4500 skeleton archers and lots of dragons and wraiths, where as my Haven hero has ressurect spell and 30 arch angels, with a ton of paladins and enquitistors...
Anyways I think you get the point I'd love to be able to match up my toughest heros and let them duke it out in a private arena, maybe have an option where you could make an .avi file or something similar...

I'd like to see heroes able to enter combat. Make it like homm4 except you actually have the option of entering combat or staying 'out of combat' so as a spellcaster you can actually survive in late game battles. Obviously with bonus' and skills for combat specialists. Then if your army is disposed of make the hero automatically enter combat instead of a flat out retreat so it's like a fight to the death.
I doubt this would ever happen but it would take the best features of both homm4 and homm3.

Actualy I think it would be best if there where 3 hero types/options.
Fighter, Mage and Tactician. The Tactician can't be hurt at all, the Mage only with spells, and the Fighter acts like a creature. You can even have heroes chose what type they are in the current round. That would be cool.
