First Aid Tent "Waiting"

Unread postby gator » 10 Jun 2006, 10:48

Why does the first aid tent skip it's turn with the notification that it's "waiting" when there are injured stacks on the field?

It has no shots left, so it keeps waiting.

Noticed it too, and thought there is only a number of times it can act. Not sure though.

There is a line "Shots left" for the First Aid Tent. It starts with 3 (yeah, ridiculously low) and i don't think you can improve this number (the War Machines skill doesn't). When there is none left, it just stands there, waiting.

First aid tent is worthless right now, they made it better imo. But the shots it has make it useless, it's still too easy to kill as well.

It also heals too little on it's own. Maybe it should heal based on creature levels. 1 or 2 point extra for each "tier" after one. At least the shots can be coutered with the Ammo Cart.

its so weird that once you gain the first aid tent ability, you are limited to using it 3 times. i try to avoid this ability, albiet it lets you resurrect.

That it can ressurect is what makes it useful. It's pretty worthless without that...

So it heals just measly 30 hit points? :| :disagree:

I belive it heals more if you have the First Aid skill.

Its not a very common skill, and I know it heals more, and even resurrects. But just three shots? Its way to little.

I don't know how it works exactly, but yeah, it only becomes useful when you're Expert + First Aid specialist. Though that is something that could be said about a number of skills.
Anyway, 3 shots is too low, and at the same time, i'm not sure it is. Against neutrals, combined with good tactics, it can ensure you get no loss. In a big battle, you rarely get to use the 3 shots before the tent is destroyed anyway.

If you have the First Aid skill, here's the stat:
Basic War Machine - heals 10hp
Advance War Machine - heals 50hp
Expert War Machine - heals 100hp

It will resurrect some creatures. I will give you an example.

I have 5 Cavaliers, each cavalier has 100hp. The stack got hit for 150 damage. So now I have 4 Cavaliers left and the top Cavalier will have only 50hp.

You have Expert War Machine + First Aid, it will heal you 100hp to the Cavalier

Now, you have 5 Cavaliers and the top Cavalier will have 50hp. So, it resurrects 1 Cavalier depending on the hit points.

Kaspar is probably my favourite necro hero (vladimir is too mainstream). At lvl 15+ his first aid tent can heal close to 200 with ressurection.

perhaps making First Aid skill doubling the Tent uses would make it worthwhile, as it is now, I can't rely on it too much to notice.

I really don't understand Nival's reasoning for just giving the First Aid Tent 3 times to heal troops. It would seem if a Hero has Expert War Machines with the First Aid Tent Ability, it should be unlimited. As it is now, the First Aid Tent is just plain LAME!

I belive that with the Ammo Cart present it doesn't run out of shots. But still, 3 is crap.

If ammo cart provides shots for the tent as well,is isnt just lame but stupid as well.

Currently a First Aid Tent heals 3x10HP both with and without Basic War Machines (3x50HP with Adv.WM and 3x100HP with Exp.WM) - and First Aid skill only allows manual control over when and what mobs to heal.

Imo the First Aid Tent should be affected by the War Machine skills as follows:

Basic WM - 4 x 20 HP healed
Adv. WM - 5 x 50 HP healed
Exp. WM - 6 x 100 HP healed
First Aid skill - double shots available and manual control

This would give 8x20HP(Basic WM), 10x50HP(Adv. WM) and 12x100HP(Exp. WM) healed with the First Aid skill chosen.

I can even see a new Haven skill emerging (possibly available to other factions as well)
- Healing Adept: First Aid Tent heals 50% more HP (requires First Aid and Benediction skills)
