What are the bonus maps?

Unread postby vicheron » 06 Jun 2006, 20:12

Can someone describe the 3 bonus single player maps from Collector/Limited Edition? What are they called? How big are they? How many players do they have?

Well, if I knew what the non-bonus maps were called, I could give you the names of the others...

This is the description (before the patch), don’t know which 3 are the extra scenario maps from the U.S. limited edition because I only have the LE so I don’t know which ones came with the ‘regular’ version...
NAME: / GOAL: / PLAYERS: / MAP SIZE:
1. A Tear for Ossir / Scenario / 2 (FFA) / VERY BIG
2. An Island of One’s Own / Scenario / 5 (FFA) / VERY BIG
3. Defiance / Scenario / 1v1v2 / BIG
4. Diplomat / Scenario / 3 (FFA) / BIG
5. Dragon Knight / Scenario / 2 (FFA) / BIG
6. Falcon’s Last Flight / Scenario / 2 (FFA) / Normal
7. Hot Pursuit / Scenario / 2 (FFA) / BIG
8. Maahu’s Gambit / Scenario / 2 (FFA) / VERY BIG
9. Refugee / Scenario / 5 (FFA) / VERY BIG
How you Treat people & what You Do or Don't Do will someday come back to "Bite You" or "Bless You". The Choice is Yours & will Affect You Today & Everyday of Your Future. Granny

I recon Diplomat, Dragon Knight and Refugee would be the LE bonus maps - since I don't have those. :(

This is really stupid.I agree that limmited edition should include something extra like a stat card,or a previous sequel, but not extra maps!Everyone should be able to play all of the maps.

Had the game shipped with like 30 maps and there were three extra in the limited editions, I'd been inclined to argue with you. As it is, I'm inclined to agree that it would have been bettere to just include them with the ordinary editions and maybe give those who'd bought special editions something extra later on.

Ha! They wouldn't sell many special editions that way, would they?

Any chance to get those maps? Like extracting them from the data pak and make them available for download?
I didn' have the chance to buy neither the limited nor the collectors edition... not fair... :(
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.

Why? I'm pretty sure the maps themselves aren't copyrighted, just the game is. If you bought it you should be able to anything to it, and play any map with it.

Seriously, I think the devs will make the maps available soon™.

Besides, when the map editor comes out, the maps will lose their shine.

I still don't think giving people the maps is illegal, unless you live in one of those nice ditatorial states....

Those maps are copyrighted, at least from a European standpoint (you don't need to write out that it's copyrighted for it to be). Thus, releasing them would be a form of piracy.

As part of the game. If someone owns the game, how would getting those maps be illegal? Wouldn't that make creature mods also illegal, as ur using game code in them?

Those maps belong to the limited edition, thus those that didnt fatten ubis pockets a bit more cant have them, even though they bought the game. Its like adding spoilers to the car:You can either buy the car that already has spoilers instaled,or one without, but if you want to add spoilers to the second one,you have to cash out extra money.Same here,if you want those maps, buy them from ubi.

Software isn't a car. Different rules apply. And you can't get different fan-made spoilers for free. And 2 people can't get the same spoiler at the same time, without any extra cost for making the spoiler.

Anyone here a lawyer?
