H5 experience calculation...

Unread postby Qurqirish Dragon » 19 May 2006, 12:53

Anyone know how (combat) experience is calculated in H5? It is not simply a multiple of the HP for creatures killed, but I haven't (yet) determined if it is a fixed amount per creature (i.e. each creature has a particular value), or if other conditions modify that. Any info would be useful.

Every unit has a fixed experience value. Much better than the per hp system, but it's probably not balanced properly :disagree:

Why are you so sure of this?I mean look at how many things they sacrifized for the sake of balance. Why would they screw this one?

Everything I've seen so far points to every unit having a specific exp value.

The experience value of each creature is displayed on the stats pages, Inferno for instance. We'll be reviewing those pages with the values from the retail version shortly. I don't think there has been a lot of changes.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

Funny is that the emerald dragon is less worthy(expirience wise)than the arch devil.I wonder why?

Because it's nearly impossible to balance and the game doesn't seem very polished, not even completely done.

Ah. I hadn't looked at those pages in a while- and last time I did, experience wasn't on the list. This definitely makes a lot more sense than the per HP system of earlier games.

No, PEON (peasant equivalent opponent number) system was used there. The initial H4 PEON system underestimated some specials (spellcasters especially) though.

From what I understood, it didn't take any specialities into account, save, perhaps, shooting and flying...
