I've been wondering for a long time if you get money for ads or something and that you need members to get companies to place the ads.
Is it like that or am I too cynical? ;)

There is no advertisement on the forums. And Google handles most of the advertisement on the front page -- I'm not interested in hunting for advertisers.

I'm just trying to convert anonymous guests into active members.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.
