Here is the old poll, but seeing as Ubisoft decided to not have Starforce on H5 (which many are sceptical about, to put it mildly), and now we have seen and played the demo, many may have changed their minds. So, are you going to buy Heroes of Might and Magic V?

Vote no decision.
I'll think about when I have a computer capable of playing it.

Voted yes, but actually it's a no. A friend of mine preordered it for me :D
I would've bought it if she didn't though...

Well yes I am, even though I didn't play the demo … in fact I've already preordered the game; although I changed my order from Limited Edition to Standard Version. The deciding factor for me was the removal of SF from the game. I always said I'd buy it if it didn't include SF. :-D

I am buying the Collector's Edition and, based on my happiness with the demo, expecting to sell everything but the soundtrack within a week of getting it.

I voted Undecided. I haven't made up my mind yet if I can get used to the turn-base camera angles & panning in & out. It is hard to adjust too as I liked H-IV format better.

I also am bothered by what UBI's 'notice' on the system requirements states, Quote "...game contains technology intended to prevent copying that may conflict with some disc and virtual drives" Unquote. What do they mean by that? I for sure don't want a game that will mess up my computer equipment..

But ofcourse I would never do anything like that ;)

It means Ubi got burned by getting sued for SF, and now they're playing it safe.

You also forgot a "Maybe when it's cheaper" option.

Couldn't resist, didn't even try :devious:

Note: Of course, I'm getting it for free from Ubisoft. If you're getting it for free in a not quite as legal a way, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Most probably not. The only thing that could tip the scales is my innate 'But it's a Heroes game!' weakness. :D

Yes. I would buy a turn based stratagey game on principle even if it wasn't great, not enough of them are made, and the better they sell, the more people will be inclined to make them.

Fortunatly HommV does appear to be a great game from the demo.

I'm not gonna be the first to buy it, and I'm not jumping with joy since i really disliked the demo and it was so user unfrednly i started to playe Civ IV after trying the demo for 20 min or so.
I'm sorry to say if I'm going to buy it or not. At least not buy it for the release price, I'm gonna wait.

:D :D :D What Gaidal said. ^

Though if that were not the case I still probably wouldn't seeing as the demo isn't functioning on my laptop (I try to start a map, it starts to load and then crashes ) and the only other comp I have access to is very old and crummy.

I don't like the demo, I don't like the things I know about the game that aren't in the demo, and I like it doesn't have starforce...

But I'm not buying a game for its copy protection, so the answer is no.

Ah, this came quickly enough.

Either way, I will buy it, but I think that may happen in about a year or so. I am cheap(frugal) like that. *Shakes fist at evil CH folks that get free copies*

You know I am tempted, I have downloaded the demo but have had no time to actually install and play it. :tired: If the special editions had the expansions, I would probably buy it just to have newer game CDs/DVDs. However until the capabilities of the editor are known I just don't know ;|
