I never sticked to a single faction in previous games. From what I see, each faction in HV has its own tastes and colors. So, I will play all of them, including Haven :)

Voted the last option. While I normaly have a fav faction I don't play with just that one. And right now i'm not even sure what faction i'll like the most.

Voted for Inferno, they have some nice units with my favourite - Pit Lords. As it was mentined before they are a tactical factions, especially Gating which is probably the best race-unique ability in teh game.

But I also like Sylvan very much, for their style, and my favourite - Unicorns (as for "good" units, Pit Lords goes for those "bad". Except the Dragons of course, which I like the most in every Heroes game).

But it does not mean that I will not play with the rest of the factions...:D

Of course not, I said my favourite is Dungeon and I will spend most of my time with them, however I will play the other factions. After all, if one knows a lot of his enemies, the easier it is to deal with them :)

Academy.

Because it's my favourite since Heroes 2 and it will be as long as Titans exist in Heroes universe :D

Although I found Inferno as interesting faction to play too (gating, succubus...)

None specific

Haven got that perfect balance of different troops with a defenseoriented might hero.
Inferno got fast troops and raw, offensive power with an allout attackhero.
Sylvan got the army with the best initiative and same armytypes as Heroes II. Bad thing is a defenseoriented mighthero though....
Dungeon got their highquality, lowgrowth units with the elemental chains. Accomponaing that is the best spellpower oriented magic hero.
Necropolis got legions of crap but the best hero.
Academy got a slow, defensive shooter and spellcaster army and a great magichero.

To summarise, ALL factions are interesting to me and I'll gladly play them all.
I've never had a town I played almost exclusivly in any Heroes game and I wont have it this time either. All towns have always had a certain charm and a few diverse tactics to them but this time they all play quite differently. (F.e I learned yesterday that gating is bad against neutrals consisting of fast troops).

For me it's the Sylvan. Love the Unicorns, Sprites, Druids and the Hunters, etc. The Tree Castle is soooooooo cooooooool. I thinik their pholosophy is the coolest too … afterall, what's wrong with trying to preserve their world from raging, ravaging, rampaging, ruinous, riotous renegades?

None of the towns make me feel that it's my special favourite no matter how good or bad it is. Maybe after playing the game for a while I'll get the feeling but I might end up not having a favourite. My all time favourite town is fortress so now I guess dungeon is closest to that.

So far the Necro and Sylvan are tied for the first place, and there isn't one guy who voted for Haven yet, I guess many don't know how training could be exploitable on rich maps ;)

Well until now only two or three posters have explained their choice by referring to faction abilities/strenghts/weakenesses. I guess most people have a favourite faction, regardless of gameplay specifics.

Well it's true in my case, at first when I play with the warlock, I didn't fall in love with the high stats of dragons or their magical immunity, or the hydras multisquare attack and the unlimited retal. of the gryphons, I adopted the faction because of their look, style of play and, basically - their identity. Sure, it has changed over time (I didn't like losing gryphons) but the core spirit of the dungeon is still there, and that's more then enough for me ;)

I haven't played with all the factions enough to decide which one I dislike the least.

And I'll probably play with the town that least annoy me. I have enough stress in my life as it is.
