What are the expansion packs?

Unread postby Wahooka » 16 Jun 2013, 15:25

Hello friends!

I have some questions about the expansion packs, Tribes of East and Hammers of Fate:

1. Are they stand-alone games that can be played even without the installation of MM5?

2. Do they each have as many missions as MM5, or are they just a few supplemental missions?

3. Can any of the heroes from MM5 be loaded into the expansion packs?

4. Are they unique, or just very similar to the main game?

PLEASE AVOID SPOILERS IN YOUR ANSWERS IF POSSIBLE.

Thanks,
Wahooka

Let's see if I can get this right here ...

1. Tribes of the East is a stand-alone, Hammers of Fate is not. However, instead of buying any of these, I recommend buying a complete edition, which has everything. :)

2. H5 had 30 campaign maps. HoF and TotE had 15 each (see our walkthroughs)

3. The expansions add stuff like heroes, yes.

4. They add factions and spells, but whether it's a new and "unique" experience is subjective.
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.

Thanks..

So if I uninstall MM5, then Hammers of the Fates won't load?

Or by stand-alone, do you just mean the story-line is different?

This,

Tribes of the east will load without homm 5 (because it's a stand alone) but it does not have the campaigns. They can be downloaded as a mod though.

Does Tribes include all of the non-campaign maps of the previous H5 games?

No, IIRC it does not.

Kalah's correct; with bug fixes, scripting changes etc. I think they avoided a clash of Heroes :)

The older maps are all available but the site is down atm. Send me a PM reminder and I'll make sure you get them one way or another :D
