How is your score calculated?

Unread postby ShadowLiberal » 22 Nov 2011, 23:37

I've been looking all over the game manual & Internet and haven't been able to find an answer for this.

How is your score calculated when you finish a campaign?

I don't have a definitive answer, but it has a lot to do with number of days to complete it. It's possible that is the only parameter even, but I can't say I know that.

That's about what I guessed, the number of days being a big factor.

I was wondering if the mission stats you see at the end of the mission (# of battles won, etc) might have something to do with it as well?

Probably days. Heroes V isn't a Heroes III clone for nothing.   :creative: :creative:
Working on tracking the locations of Heroes IV battles. Stage 6 of campaign map finished, all initial Heroes IV campaigns mapped.

Calculating scores on Heroes V

Unread postby seandees » 29 May 2013, 23:43

It might be partially based on time, but that is only a small part.
My friend and I just completed the first 2 campaigns:
In campaign 1:
Times: 213 days 238 days
Rank: Black Dragon Black Dragon
Score: 33609 33014
In Campaign 2:
Time: 206 days 240 days
Rank: Black Dragon Black Dragon
Score: 26907 17891

The first campaign the days are pretty similar and the scores are similiar.
The Second campaign the days are similar again, but my score was 50% more than his!

I don't know what I did to change my score so much. (It might have been one thing on any of the five different maps, so I can't figure it out.)

Time is the only in game variable they show u on the hall of fame screen, and its a big factor, but not the only one. Iv finished the whole set finally and on a couple of my hall of fames I'm listed below a name that finished with more days than me (my number of days is smaller than the few above me).

At the end of each mission, it shows u ur score

Battles won/lost

Resources

Time
Etc.

Um guessing all these things count, including number of casualties.

Since ur main hero can't die without failing the quest, ur number of losses should be low if not 0 every time. So I think actual number of units lost throughout makes a small difference. Then resource and creature generators I suppose. Maybe even artifacts

Difficulty is a big factor. Beat a campaign on heroic and watch those black dragon scores soar.

I suspect hero level and town buildup as factors also.

Yes, level would make sense, or at least XP. And difficulty definately. That's one thing that did stand out
