The unite looks perfect.. but I don't know about the name..
It resembles more a Manticore or a Sphinxes than the Lamasu to me.

(I didn't know about the Lamasu til today)
I just had to read something about it and even thou they are similar, Lamasu where moroften depicted as Bull based creatures.

The resemblance is obvious. Or not.
It does look similar. Flaming hair, wings, humanoid body, lots of red, and so on. Other units as well - Vampires, Angels, etc.

On the other hand there are distinctively H6 units, such as Ghosts, so it's not all bad I guess.

Well if they had just went with Lamasu/Sphinx it would have just sounded too good..

And they could have included it in their 50% new units anyway, as we never had a Sphinx before except as a adv. map building.

Mmm knights on horses made of light and sphinxes.

I like the idea that there are more units connected to the divine other than being 'good' and living by the rules of the 'good' diety. Perhaps Valkerye will make an appearance in HoMM VII :P

Sphinxes? nah. I think they don't fit in Necropolis. But perhaps thats just me. I'd have liked a more anubial creature if they insist on wizard rejects in necropolis.
Grah!

Shiny horse-e-e-es, weeee... eeek! :ill:

No, seriously, this is just plain dumb.

Sphinxes I am cool with, really hope they work on their "names", though. I also hope they work a bit on the Vampire's attack, cause it's so mincing and STUPID I could bash my head in the monitor 'till it attack after the 3-d or so battle. This one's for the other topic, I know.

I can accept two units who look similar, but once you get to 3 or more with obviously the same shape, then that's ridiculous and frankly lazy.

I'd say similarity with ghoul is fine because of different color. But all the red guys need a good distinguishing feature, if the visibility is about as below (a praetorian btw):

Wow.. now I'm confused
Are these Priestess/Maidens the elemental like beings from the Sveltana Artwork? Or will there by 3 feminine units in the Haven line-up

There is a lot of female units in the game I see
2 by Haven, 1 by Inferno, 2-3 by Necropolis.
is this same sort of way to tell us "No, there won't by any Matriarchal Dark elves" (Not that I would expect them to by in the game)

Why are the Maidens listed as Core units? I some how think that Priests should by higher than Griffyns (but I trust your information)

Because they don't look for me like this unit:

And better don't trust me in 100%. Just in case.

EDIT:
Where did I see priestess/vestal face before? :|

Actually Elvin kind of confirmed them as Core. :)
By the way it is not impossible the glowing creature and this Priestess to be one and the same - the "lighter" version could be some battle spell effect that they cast on themselves or something. Though I doubt it.
Beware Kreegans bearing gifts.

Same goes with the Necro Champions :)

The only real "surprise" we can get is from the last Inferno elite and yet, I'm still hoping for the Nightmares, but unless Tormentors are shooters, there's no chance for this to happen :S
I couldn't say anything at the time, but I was chuckling to myself when you typed this. I know we knew that the drider was the Necro champion....but I also knew you'd STILL be surprised by it. Am I correct? :O) I freaking LOVE this unit. The ability to change her form is just icing on the cake.

No, I wasn't surprised by her - though I admit I LOVE this unit - but I already knew she could switch forms :D
