The only explanation I can think of is that the HoMM V Seraphim are named after the MMH:VI Seraphim because the latter gained the reputation of mercykillers. I.e. the Heroes V Seraph is actually an Angel with a nickname or title that initially was the name of a lesser or at least more earthly creature. Amazing stuff! :baby:
Otherwise they'll have to explain how the upgraded Angel becomes smaller and more human-like.

I'm guessing the Seraph/Celestial counts as a new unit to them... man, its depressing to always be right...

I only see two heads and spiked armour (with two spikes at bottom of dog mouth).
Hmmm.... i recall checking out one of those pictures and seeing that it had more heads then i first assumed... but i guess it might have been the Hellhound, which has 1 head too many... both should be named Orthrus then...

My first impression is, these units look extremely like their H5 counterparts ... this does not bode well for the game.
I'm a hypocrite because I suggested that all life is sacred and should not be wasted without good reason.

Succubi looks for me like Jezebeth from concept art.

Added new units to elite and moved Pit Lord to champion, althrough I am not sure where both of them should belong.
Ahh well, we must wait for some Inferno gameplay to be sure.

BTW - Succubi belong to no Demon Overlord?

The resemblance is obvious. Or not.

I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I'll just put some quotes from other boards :

From C_h_u_c_k_l_e_s (AKA Sir Charles)
Sorry for the confusion guys. The Pit Lord IS the strongest unit for the inferno. You can call that a confirmation if you like. I got the order mixed up for some unknown reason, hence my earlier post. My apologies.

From Elvin about the Inferno setup
Well then, one core and one elite remaining :)
Though, Elvin is known for playing some pranks on us

Actually, I like the Pit Lord being the champion unit. Now the Devils can actually be the heroes for the faction.

Sun Rider?! Really?!

Ok, it's becoming pretty obvious that they need to get someone with more imagination to translate the chosen names from french... chevalier du soleil might sound good in french (as good as anything in french can sound), but not so much in english...

Solar Knight/Champion/Crusader comes to mind right away, and i'm sure we could do better...

actually solar knight is even more ridiculous. sorry :)

this whole business is a tragedy, so one more stupid name hardly matters anymore.

Dungeon/Asylum had Troglodyte heroes... i miss those days.

And Inferno always had devil heroes...
I know that. I meant that the heroes would not also be "ordinary" units.
For example, there is no Haven unit called "general" No Necro unit called "Necromancer" and so on. Yes, it's just a naming thing, but I tend to think of "THE" devil, not a horde of devils.

Don't be too concerned about these names appearing in the final product - they are all in their beta, roughly-translated versions and will probably be touched up later. That said, now is the perfect time to propose alternative suggestions.

Divine/Celestial Champion and Knight of Dawn all seem like better names. "Sun" just doesn't have much 'oopmph' to it.

"Sphinxes" added.
It's only me or they are another unit with no so good name (these putrid and festering)?

Dumb name (the Putrid and Festering parts, not Lamasu), but like in the case of the Sun Rider/Crusader the look of the unit makes up for the awful name IMO. Still, I hope they work on those names before they're done.
