Who wants to see the Dwarf faction in Heroes VI?

Unread postby Asterix » 04 Oct 2010, 14:04

I especially loved Heroes V because there was a Dwarf faction!!! :D

I think Dwarves are really fun, funny...

Perhaps they are not very popular and some people with more pragmatic views may say that you don't need to have them in the game.
But I think dwarves are a cool race and I would certainly miss them if they didn't appear in Heroes VI.

If you feel the same way, speak up!

I don't mind the idea of a dwarf faction per se, but the wait it was done in H5 was lame...

I mean Giant Dwarves... wtf?

Agreed. H5 Dwarves sucked. Something similar to Disciples 2's Mountain Clans would be very welcome, though. B-)

A dwarf faction, yes. The Fortress from H5, definately NOT.

Likewise. Though at least they had an interesting gameplay if a tad broken in long maps.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I don't care much of what happens with dwarves.

I got myself thinking on the dwarves that were tied with sylvan/elves, back at Heroes 3 and Heroes 2. They are unlikely to appear as a whole faction, imho.

Yes.
But not as a starting faction.

How would this fit in to a prequel, though?
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.

Some of the low-level dwarf units were fun; and made sense. But the fire drake?? 8|
The thane is one of my fav units. I think if it was mostly infantry and war machine units, they would be more fun.

Oh, the other thing with the dwarves, was that I never, ever used the runes. :(

Yes, if they improve the line-up.

If he could died in HV and return to world of living in HV:FoH (same as Freyda), so why can be 400 years old? :D

Wait... both King and Queen of new Unicron Empire retur from Netherworld... this must be necromacers agenda and we see it begining in HVI. ;)

Wow.. naw thats one thing you should never forget. Some of them are realy important when playng for the Dwarves.

The fortress is my favorite faction. The giant Thenes were odd, but when you look at other games like D2 or KB, nothing unusual.

The Unit I dissliked the most where the Brace-knuckled brawlers and the fact, that ther wasn't a singel unit whith an Axe. Also the Bears would be bether whitout a Rider.

Just a little remake and keep their feeling. Then it will by a good faction.

The bear riders and thanes are the only units I actually liked from the dwarven faction. I could get on board with the idea of riderless bears, and would be fine with a H6 dwarven faction if it included other non-dwarven units.

Why not come up with a hypotetical line up for them, just for fun.

Core unites
Defender/Stallwart
Axe Thrower
Bear

Elite unites
Rune Keeper
Deep warrior/Deep berserker melee unit whit an Two-handed axe
??? A new beast???
Champion
??Beast or Thene??

To hell with Ubisoft's lore-restricted factions. There must be a right for every mythical creature to appear in a heroes game! :P

Another proposal for a dwarf faction:

Core units:
Defender
Wolf
Some range unit

Elite units:
Troll
Berserker
Salamander (similar to the lava dragon)

Champion:
Giant/Jotun

And too hell with people who really couldn't come up with a decent faction to save their lives:
Fortress
Core
Propper > Miner
Bolter > Dampbolter
Kob > Kobold

Elite
Runekeeper > Runecarver
Fyrd > Huskarl
Bear > War Bear

Champion
Giant > Fire Giant

The heroes are Thane (might) and Runelord (magic).
