Well it must be working somehow, because everyone is doing it...

Heck, it even almost ruined Mass Effect 2 by making the weapon selection way too sparse in the regular game version...

And exclusive maps when a game has very few maps when it ships (hello Dawn of War 2) is the stupidest thing ever...

I don't really like that beta is for pre-order but on the other hand Stardock done it before and no one complain.
I just hope it's not only way to get there. We still don't know anything about possible DRM.
tress wrote:Imo its really lame they offer in game extras as CE content That just encourages people to pirate so they can get actually full game, or use shortcuts like modding to get missing items at best.
They will be unlocked after some time, just like special aura for heroes in HV.

They have yet to unlock suppressed spass 12 for SCC. And as I understand they dont intend to. Also is homm5 traill unlocked since its still grayed out for me, or must I get some sort of extra patch?

They added that blue special aura below heroes in some patch, replacing their race aura (but you can disable CE aura if you don't like it).

Which is even worse because you're basically paying for a timed exclusivity...

Since there is a lot of other bonuses I dont think it is that bad, I am more concerned if they never unlock them for regular folk. That of course leads back to a point that such bonuses should never be included in the first place since neither option is good for game.

Well besides the ring there's nothing there that should really count as a good extra for a CE, soundtrack, artbook and poster are items that are standard for any type of non-bare-bones edition (and the poster should come with the regular one too imho, H4 did) and the T-Shirt is something that should be sold separately...

A cloth map of Ashan, some miniatures or something would be better.

The only ok in-game thing that should come with a CE is some sign that says CE Owner in some way...

Well, there is creature reference card (a.k.a. Poster) worth for me and we have Michael figure for other super-mega-extra-hiper-special edition.
And price of this edition seems too high for me.

BTW - few years ago this HVI CE would be called standard edition. :P

EDIT:
CE pictures updated.

Well art books at least have been CE material since forever... but yes, some things that used to be standard edition fare are now only found in CE's...

Since when? I think I need to take some pictures of my standard collection games, so you see how games looked few years ago. Well even King's Bounty: The Legend has artbook in standard edition here.

Does anyone know how to pre-order a physical copy of the Collector's Edition? When I go to the store, the only options are for the Standard and Deluxe Editions which are download only.

I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

Hi all,

I was looking at the collector's edtion and it seems like its being sold only at game.co.uk is that correct?

I havent seen any footage and almost no screenshots of the new heroes (didnt want spoilers lol), so do you guys think I should buy the Collector's edition? My favorite heroes is Heroes 3, then 2 then 5 (which I enjoyed a lot and have the Complete Edition of).

So what do you guys say? buy or no? based on what you know so far...

I'm going to buy it, but then again I'm a collector and HoMM is one of my favourite game series.

It's going to be sold at couple different stores here in Finland at least.

My question is, if you can't get the physical copy which supposedly NA isn't getting it. If you have no intention in participating in the Beta, what is the difference between the standard and the CE except price. Any extra heroes artifacts and so will eventually have to made available by patch otherwise mapmakers will only be able to make standard versions without any CE addons. Surely UBI isn't that stupid? or maybe they ......... 8|
