That 'Naga Faction' obviously takes Water World Theme. With its derivative : Sea, River, Lake, Ice.

That doesn't belong in a Naga faction!
It doesn't belong in any faction that has to walk on land at all...

Sea bound Boss monster sounds like more of a fit.

What does this have to do with that?
I don't know... it's really hard to see what a bunch of leaked images could have to do with obtaining stuff by non-official channels...

Could it be possible that Dev "share" the duty of making art work of this faction to their Chinesse coleaque, due to the looks / the theme of each troop of the faction that 'shold' be orientalist ? ;|

A harpy is a person with wings that doesn't mean it belongs in a faction with angels.

They both mean diffrent things so they go to diffrent factions.

The thing is people automaticaly assume that Naga cannot have the mytholigical complexity as greek or European, legends. It is just assumed that Naga are water creatures and that is all there is too them.

A Naga means something way diffrent than a Kraken! There is no reason they belong in the same faction even if they are both water creatures!

Agree with the incompatibility. Naga is Eastern. Kraken is European.
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.

Ashan is not Earth so this is irrelvant. What is relevant is that Kraken doesn't really work as unit that can fight on dry land, which is pretty much a must for recruitable creature. So, Kraken as sth. that can attack your ship ? why not. As a troop ? Hell no.

It is relevant. Ubi have time and again compared their Ashan universe to Earth - for instance, the Griffin duchy is compared to the Slavic region of Europe.

I accept defeat on my argument for the kraken. Mostly because it's unfit for landbased combat.

Harpies have wings of parrots. Centaurs are half-zebras. Cyclops are not giants but half-demons. So much for consistency with our world and its myths.

That being said. Kraken as a unit still sucks.

Harpies where never given a precise set of wings from any bird, the greeks would probably have seen the zebra as a funny coloured horse (if the hippo was a horse with a horn to them aka unicorn why not) and the Cyclops are still pretty big and have the blood of a supernatural being in them...

But yes, it's not like the naga from previous game was even close to the eastern mythical creature (it was basically the D&D Marilith).

And lets not even get into the other units that didn't fit together in real world mythology.
