Yeah, i mean why are we calling it japanese when it's only 90% inspired by samurai armour and kimonos.

I am sorry, I probably shouldn't underestimate the Western knowledge about Eastern culture. I just wanted to share what I know, but I think I have phrased it badly. I just want to say that the artist's detail to other things non-Japanese seem ignored. To a Japanese person, the first thing he would notice is probably why it is decorated with non-Japanese accessories, but a Westerner would generally see a plain "samurai".

Another thing is what I see from the picture may not be the same as your view. I can interpret his sword as the typical samurai sword, or this anti-cavalry sword that predate the samurai's:

Or besides the typical samurai armor, I can interpret it as another one that also predates it:

However, I am now fully aware that he should be interpreted as pure Japanese while I am in a Western gaming forum. I apologize again for my unnecessary "knowledge-sharing".

Do you actually think the Haven troops armour is exactly like any real piece of western armour, or that the Academy is purely arabic design, or the Orcs purely mongolian.

Those pictures are inspired mainly by medieval japanese culture, and you'd have to agree that it's obvious, even if some elements are taken from other cultures (and a video game?), and/or exaggerated etc.

And calling it asian seems off to em as you know so are the indians, the mongols etc... just be glad we think of you first instead of the chinese while it lasts... ;)

Thank you for your understanding, and thank you for explaining to me but unfortunately, I am not Japanese. But anyway, I believe the artist took inspiration from history of the Far East for the feather-like thing over the head, not a video game.

Why unfortunately?! It means you're not crazy, while you can still enjoy their artistic output...

More likely he saw it in some manga or manhua, considering he's french and all.

Well, the concept of a boss fight is supposed to be a 1 monster army that is strong enough to wipe your army. In no way such a thing should be recruitable. It's like wanting to play your faction while having the Azure Dragon as level 7.

Level 1: Serpent
Level 2: Lizardman
Level 3: Naga
Level 4: Swamp Dragon (I want to see a dragon below tier 7)
Level 5: Nagara (big Naga)
Level 6: Nagara Priest
Level 7: Coatl (big, feathered snake)

Not done for fun particularly, just one of my pre-announcement factions given a dusting-off.

What about...

Core:
Lizardman
Naga warrior
Dragon fly

Elite:
Naga witch
Medusa
Basilisk

Champion:
Sea serpent (let's call it Leviathan)

Other options:
Wyvern (I prefer it in the Stronghold)
Hydra (I prefer it in the Dungeon)
Quetzalcoatl (giant feathered flying snake)
Giant crab (core unit)

There needs to be a lvl 6 no-retal sword wielding Naga unit in the faction... it's a requirement.

Personally i'd go with:

Troglodyte
Serpent/Dragon Fly
Lizardman (Saurian, Reptilian, Kobold ?) Thrall

Gorgon or Basilisk (death stare unit either way)
Wyvern
Naga Queen

Sea Serpent (or Hydra, but with no legs).

Wyvern (I prefer it in the Stronghold)
Nah, the Roc fits way better in the Stronghold.

As I mentioned before I really do not like the idea of a Naga faction in the game. But if it were to happen I don't think we should use any units from previous Heroes games. I think they should be unquie units and creatures from Hindu mythology.

As a side note no Naga faction would be complete without Garuda.

Some units from hindu myth would be good, but some of the older lizardish units being back can't hurt either... especially if the make the faction look like it has some racial unity without making every other unit another Naga...

But sure, replace the Wyvern with a Garuda... maybe give the Basilisk the name of a hindu serpent beast etc...

Um, guys, sticking Garuda in a Naga faction is like sticking a Devil in Haven.
