A question

hi i made this cool map in HoF map editor and now i want to open it in the TotE map editor but it won't work. can anyone help me please. :)

Perhaps its because its an HoF map, it doesn't match the file extension required for ToTE?

well, i look at the maps for TotE which are .h5m and i look at the maps for HoF wich are .h5m also...

If you change the extension to .zip you can test archive with winrar to see if the file is corrupt.

If it is good, maybe this can help: Unpack the .h5m with a program like winrar, and compare the file structure with the file structure of a map that works.

It sometimes happend to me working with the toe-editor that maptags were placed wrong or duplicated causing errors.

yeah, the file that doesn't work is missing the nametag. solution?

What is it exactly that you mean by 'missing the nametag'. Do you mean there is no map-tag.xdb file in the package? If that is so, you can maybe create a new map-tag.xdb yourself.

A way to do that is copying one from another map (of the same type) and then editing the settings in it with notepad to 'fit' with your map
(size, playercount, underground yes or no). I must only warn you that
when you open a .xdb file with notepad, you better not let windows xp learn to always open .xdb files with notepad, because that is also a problem that caused me gamefiles to crash.
