Street Fighter 4 is a lot of fun. my household played it together a lot when it came out on the PS3.

We also used to play a lot of Super smash brothers.

Really we're a play together in person/hotseat family =D

The combinations are different and complicated to give the player a sense of achievement when mastering them. If they were all the same, there would be far less variety.
Well put. One of the reasons why I like MK, also.

Is MK available for PC from somewhere? I've been looking for a one-on-one fighting game.
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.

I believe Triology and 4 are out for pc. You will have to look hard to get them I think. It's just not my thing, it's too complex for a fighter, and I don't like the fact that you will have to do absurd stuff. Super Sash for example. It's not a hard system to get used to BUT, the controlls work great, so newbies and experienced gamers can whip up some awesome moves. Another game, not hard to master, is Tekken. A variety of moves, but still easy enough to remember. Tat is hw it should work if you ask me...

I guess things must be radically different on consoles and on the PC, then, because moves like forward + forward + high punch (and that's how the majority of moves are executed) hardly seem difficult to me.

MK moves hard?! You ever tried playing Street Fighter then?

Heck, the reason i preferred MK (outside Fatalities) over SF is because it was easier to do the moves (and they where better known, at least over here).

I think neither are easier than the other. It's just what you get used to. Both games have characters that are a pain to play with (like Zangief in SF2 or Rain in MKT).

If I had to pick one, however, it would probably be the Street Fighter series, simply for the fact that it includes Street Fighter 1. Ever played Street Fighter 1 on an Arcade machine? Now that's HARD.

I haven't played the ones after 4 because they where only on consoles (and the best emulator still doesn't play them well), but you're talking crazy when comparing the ones that came about in the same relative time frame.

MK was always considered fighting-lite and relying on gimmicks (aka fatalities / gore) to keep it in the competition.

Of course i guess that it depends which you learned first, or had more exp with (as i recall SF machines where a bit rarer over here, or at least at the places i went to).

I played SF first. I mastered it in no big time span, really. I can still pick it up, and kick everybody's a$$ with Akuma (Gouki, whatever). That's what's so great about it. You can pick it up and just warm up first befre you are back on track...

That explains it... it's like language, the 1st is always easiest to pick up...

However, I played MK Trillogy on the PSX, which sucked IMO, and the controlls bla bla bla. But then I started playing Tekken, which was WAY better. Moves were also easier...
