Have any links to check out?
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I'm intrigued since it's a fantasy TBS, so I'm downloading the demo:

Really very good.

In the spirit of Shattered Union or Battle for Wesnoth but ever so polished and detailed. Very much enjoyable, though-out and pretty!

The story is being very straightforward... but then the game IS called 'Fantasty Wars', so what can you expect? (At the very least it is not stupid, which must be welcomed, and the cutscenes are done well).

Definately one to engage you for some time or at least tide you over until King's Bounty is released. :D

I D/L the demo from two different places (File Planet & 1C) Both demos wouldn't execute correctly for some strange reason. I notice that Filefront says "English Demo" & is a tad larger file @ 355MB vs, 331MB. Maybe this one will work for me!

Thanks for the link! Nice D/L speeds!

You're welcome.

I tried the game but felt it was too complicated without a tutorial. Then again, I'm notoriously impatient when it comes to trying out new games.

I read some reviews. Mostly mixed. The metacritic average is very low, 67, but the fan average is much higher.

I like the terrain bonuses/penalties, and the generic setting doesn't bother me.

I don't know if I want to spend the time though. Anyone else?

I played the demo and that was enough for me to decide not to play the full game.

It plays more like a 3D version of Panzer General in a fantasy setting than Heroes of Might and Magic, as all the scenarios are completely hex-based. Some of them are very large and have an overwhelming number of units. All in all, a bit too much micromanagement for my tastes.

Thoroughly good experience with it. It's polished and the underlying system is good. I'd rate it slightly above Shattered Union and a touch above Wesnoth (mostly because you have to pay for it, while Wesnoth is free). But there's some great variety in FW.
