That game is sporting some uber graphics! :D

Of course, I'm leery of any FPS that's NOT called Halo (and that because of the regenerative shield concept and one or two other things).

We'll see though. ;)

Besides being a Halo, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z fanboy, I'm also an RPG fanboy.

Timed exclusives are really starting to annoy me, so just like Puzzle Quest, it will be a cold day in Hell before I pick up UT3. That and I don't have a decent connection to play multiplayer, so there really isn't any point in me getting it.

But to be leery of any first person shooter that isn't Halo? That's just foolish Fate. Bioshock and Half-Life 2 are phenomenal first person shooters that should be played. Besides (and I really do hate to expose my hypocrisy), when does liking a game bar you from liking another? They aren't mutually exclusive.

I played the original and liked it, but I have no urge to play this one. TimeSplitters 4 on the other hand...

@ asandir

what's with all the post-processed screens? Even if the game does look like that during play there's no way screens taken would look that good.

The game looks almost as good as those screens (demo hasn't got all available settings), I can confirm the info first hand..

I'm having one heck of a time blasting through deathmatches. One thing I love is how UT3 went back to the roots of the original UT, for those who are familiar with it I strongly recommend checking the demo out.

Original UT is nuts, 2003 was a waste, 2004 was very, very good .... so I'm keen

I was going to ask the same question, but then I played the demo and... wow... I was surprised to find out that the game has its own in-game "post-processing effects" option. The game does look great - just don't play it with an older video card that doesn't support SM3.

Well...it's not that I hate other FPS (or dislike for that matter). It's just I still remember the "good old" days of mindless FPS...

Most FPS feel like an endless killing romp between stimpacks. :S

As for Bioshock, I've been hearing good things about it. :)
No comment on Half-Life...

I was into UT99 big time. Played in a clan and with my college buddies, etc all the time. IMO, it was the greatest multiplayer FPS ever made.

Unfortunately, I found the last two sequels disappointing. I'm willing to give this a shot though. I just downloaded the demo last night and I'll give it a try over the next few days.
