Loved everything, from character design to spell sound effects. Much more vivid then the old sorcy with its repetitive movements and lack of flow.

Can't barely wait for more info on it.

And desintegrate is just lovely.

In other words the wizard is just a spell caster? What did you want him to be, a swordsman?

The skills look quite a bit different, and lots of skills to boot. [/quote]

I wanted her to be called a Sorceress... duh.

Different skills?! You read the same skill list?! Hydra, Meteor (with the D&D name), Charged Bolt, new name 4 Lightning etc. and they said the Barbarian was too close so they just used the old name... ha.

and they're taking the Sacred road it seems:
http://www.diii.net/blog/comments/exclu ... interview/

Attribute points are not player-assignable in D3. They’re not in the blizzcon build, but we thought that was just to simplify things for new players at the show. Jay says no, that’s how it is in the game now. His explanation was that it makes items even more important, and that it lets the designers plan a bit better (they can assume players will have at least X in each stat by a given level). You still get attributes, and they will still be required for equipment use, but they are automatically assigned each level up. Thus every Wizard will have the same base str/vit/dex/etc as every other Wizard of the same level. Same for the Barb and WD.
Too bad they're not doing it the right way and leaving 1 attribute point for the player...

But in D3 you can chose the gender of your character. Calling a male spell caster a sorceress would be too transgender for most of us. 8| Wizard is a more genereic term.

Maybe they'll change not allowing the player to distribute attribute points since not many players are happy with that.

The gender explanation is quite convincing GOW, but on the official Blizzard website http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/characters/wizard.xml, the fictional Storyteller Abd Al-Hazir points out quite enfatic that he is not naming them sorcerors for a reason. Perhaps Blizz will come up with some nasty tale behind this name change.

Perhaps in this world of Sanctuary the sorcerors are considered the rightful arcane apprentices and wizards the arcane renegades, or the other way around.

Or perhaps the sorcerors are simply those not grumpy enough to be called wizards ;)

Man, too bad there's no male variant of that name they could use...

They're only changing the name because they want the class to only have one spelling for both, even if it's a male one (that's why it got paired with witch, which sounds more female).

From a gameplay PoV it's better then D2's "put everything in Vit and in Str enough for items, and maybe some in Energy for casters, but not alot" thing. Not to mention how it would allow them to make items for each lvl of a certain character. But of course that does make attribute superfluous and they could just take them out and have the secondary attributes lvl up themselves...

I still say going the Sacred way with giving 1 point for the player to place is the best of both worlds.

They are taking their time with Diablo 3, it will be released after Starcraft 2 for sure:
I don’t ... I don’t know how far out it is, but it’s still fairly early in development. I think when people see it, it feels so polished and so finished, but the reality is we have a very small portion of the game done right now.

A lot of the way we develop is: We wanna make sure the game is really fun and the visual fidelity we want ... we wanna make sure we have a small area that feels really done so we know what to build. So even though it looks really complete a lot of the content is just not there. We have a long ways to go to build each of the different acts in the game and put in all the quests and all the different monsters. We have a lot of development ahead of us before it will be something ... It will definitely be out after StarCraft II.

Was i the only one that always adjusted the contrast higher then 1 on all the games back then... (and some even now, I WANT TO SEE THE GAME, NOT SQUINT AT IT... see fan made "darker diablo 3 video, you can barely see anything outside the light radius)

Also, look at SC2... once they put in more details in the graphics (as it always happens between early and late alpha stages) people stopped complaining about the colours...

Nah, they just gave him some funny clothes... must be Halloween or something.

Next class will be a ranged/support hybrid (amazon/paladin mix), leaving room for something new as the fifth class.

Yeah right, something new...

I tell you now, so you won't be disappointed when it's officially announced: the last two characters will be the ranged rouge/thief (assassin/amazon mix) and the support cleric/monk (unarmed paladin or with hammers).
