In fact, I have just resumed playing Diablo II LoD this Monday, a single game to develop a Necromancer (which is a character I have never developed much). Just reached level 25 and I'm in the middle of the 3rd act. Something that I like in Diablo are the combination of the skills you may develop and some differences between characters - although I think that there are some crappy skills at all.

I'd like DIII to be single-player as well, not only Multiplayer, having single-purpose story or something different for multiplayer, and some different issues, like defending your realm for a mission (this time would be something like they are coming, and not you going for them), more talented hireable mercenaries, maybe combining techniques between characters, differente passive-like abilities - like pushing certain buttons to increase dodging probability, other things than just clicking and killing, you know.

jeez I dont hope there will be MP only, enough pure online games out there. I feel standard single player/ co-op campaigns soon will be vanished..hope not, just a feeling...

The loss of single player would be a major drag. My self-esteem can't handle getting wailed on by a 13 year old punk with more time on his/her hands.

Well I like Diablo I and II. Unfortunately I am good in coopertive mode, but horrible in vs mode in multiplayer games. So if there is no single mode Diablo III will be out for me :(. Yes that means I have no skills, am not leet, and get 'pwned' in multiplayer. I am a n00b and proud of it. *grins*.

The single player base for diablo is huge. Blizzard would be making a huge mistake making Diablo3 multiplayer only.

They said that's exactly why SC2 is the next game, to show ppl that Blizzard didn't turn into a MMO only company.

Hmm. I just saw that Starcraft sequel announcement. That seems to so far mostly confirm what I was saying. It's promising, though, that they actually care enough about singleplayer to ever do that again. I've seen companies go completely MMO because all they could see was the dollar signs. They then realized at the time MMO's were a niche market and not every game would rake in the dough like everquest, guild wars, then WOW did. There may be a few others. It's no longer a niche market with all the WOW players but it does mean because they spend all their waking hours playing this it's not as likely other MMO's can enter and expect to get any or much of their fanbase.

Keep in mind everything I was saying about Diablo III isn't official.

Everquest? Guild Wars?! NO... WoW and Lineage (I&II), they're way ahead of everything else.

True, but Guild Wars is free. ;)

I wish I had a faster connection so I could play WoW...

I think paying the montly fee would make me feel even more obligated to play it. That's a feeling I can do without.

I'd like to see plenty of RPG elements .... it's a great mish mash of action hack'n'slash and RPG and that's what it should stay as

I wouldn't mind the class system being akin to that of Titan Quest where you get to pick your masteries and get 3 skill points a level.

something along those lines, as long as it's well implemented

I like TQ's skill system, but I hope D3 keeps character classes and unique skills for each class.

I would like to see the ability to customize the appearance of characters somewhat, including the ability to chose gender for any character class.

I would like to NOT SEE unique class skills (such as teleport) made available to other classes via items or runewords.

I would like to see the ability to transfer items to any of the characters in an account without starting a new game. That would cut down on tedious muling and on the number of games created for just muling.

And of course I hope Blizzard is able to eliminate dupes, hacks, and bots for online play.

As if there are more then 2-3 good builds for each class anyhow.
