Heroes Online

Unread postby Vlaad II » 03 Jan 2007, 08:41

If you don't remember, Heroes of Might and Magic Online was a MMORPG-style game to be released in China in late 2005 by TQDigital. (You can refresh your memory here )

After a few years, it seems the game is still in development! Here's a new preview (a free registration might be required, so try their homepage first).

The concept artwork is gorgeous as always:

I'm downloading the video yet, at first glance it looks like normal wmv.

As for size about 3.6MB the downloading time seems to be inappropiate - about half of hour.

And where I had seen this Pit Lord before?

@It's extremly slow, in the part which I had got yet, 836kB is only mmo logo, I may try it later with fdm (free download manager) the download completely froze by now.

Not too much, just champion charging out of town bravurly killing one crusader or what. The view is 3D and camera raised from the bottom up to taking the battle from above. Very short indeed. Enviroment seems to be pretty though and champion is playing with his lance like borned juggler :D

I got it myself. Awful.

It is 3D, but looks outdated, just like that old Heroes clone (also made in China ;| ). Another cheap choice of developers...?

I think i like the design better the H5's. But they too seem to have gone with the "faster" BF. :disagree:

Not unless it's at least 10 times bigger then it's owner. It's an Asian thing.

But what is that green thing in the Medusa's hair?

I like the creature design (especially the centaur!).

Though the graphics seem outdated, the underground (?) looks awesome!

But I agree, it IS a HOMM3 clone.

It looks somewhat interesting, but does seem awfully much like a clone. It looks like a mix between H5 and H3, which I am not inclined to try particularly. ;|

I've noticed the word "clone" used alot here... the thing is: its supposed to be a clone. only renewed and *online*. obviously they didnt want to have to come up with everything again from scratch and decided to take the best-selling game in the series and take it online. obviously they had to completely re-do the graphics and everything. honestly, i dont even want them to make it online, i would be very happy just with a Heroes 3 that looked like this (although the graphics could be better).

EDIT:
however, they REALLY need to fix up the battlefield. the scale is really just horrible to look at. for their sake (and my eyes') i really hope they fix that up before release comes (if it ever does).

(another) EDIT:
and in that battle screen, where do you guys think that river disappears to..?

The underground and the dungeon units look amazing. I love those medusa and evil eyes.

First off.....Good to see you again Vlaad! Hope you are well.

I like the looks of this "Clone." It would be nice if some of these features could be used in the current H3. I would much prefer these backgrounds to ones used in H3 now. I do agree with SoupNazi...the ratio of size between the creatures and the towns is not concurrent with reality.....even for a fantasy game. The creature images are much sharper, and again, it would be great to have a sharpness of these creatures for H3. But it's the backgrounds that stick out to me more than anything in this game.
