100 Issues of CGW

Unread postby Angelspit » 21 Oct 2006, 18:47

I'm not sure how many of you read Computer Gaming World (which will soon become Games for Windows: The Official Magazine.). I found out that the first 100 issues have been released in PDF. You can look at the various covers during the 25 years of their existence:

A quick look at the covers of the 90s made me remember how popular were the flight simulator games back then.

My subscription started around issue 5 or 6. At some point along the line, I must have been promoted to a life subscription. I haven't paid in 10 years, but the magazine kept coming. I wonder if this will carry over to the new title.

October `88 and December`88 brought back some memories, October for the "Zack McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders" review and December for the "Pool of Radiance" and "Heroes of the Lance" reviews.
I went out and bought the games after reading the reviews, I even bought a 5 1/4" disc drive to play them.

Those games got me started on Graphic Adventure games and on RPG`s. :D
