Sounds good, but I don't like copies of famous games. I don't like it when someone tries to make money on someone else's product. There would be some unique plot and gameplay here - it would be more interesting and not look like plagiarism.

I agree that unauthorized copies that make money aren't cool. I believe UBI feels the same way and will step in if this game crosses the line. No company can let infringement of their copyrights stand without risking losing their rights. I have no sympathy for UBI and would like them to lose their ownership of the MM franchises, but unfortunately they are the owners and it's for them to decide on whether this game strikes too close to home. Now I have not looked into this to see if it is authorized by UBI; if so, then plagiarism of their own properties is often the name of the game many companies play.

Jeff and KayBur, copyright is for expression, not the backend mechanics.

So if I create a game using H5's pretty complicated skill wheels, but I get my own artists to draw everything differently and use different words to describe skills and perks, it's ok even if it actually plays 100% like H5 and H5 gamers all swear it is identical to H5.

This game isn't a 'slavish copy' of MM. That makes a big difference.

That said, can you imagine someone taking all of H6 or H7's code, and just putting their own graphics?

It's probably easier to rip off a game by keeping the game engine and just change the pictures. In reality that doesn't happen, does it?

It reminds me of trying to make money without doing anything. Only this story does not work in 2021, when the computer games market is saturated with a mass of new products.

If you are asking for turn-based strategy games then nulls clash, Clash Quest by Supercell, TeamFight Tactics & Legends of Runeterra by Riot Games are good games. Consider playing them.
