Witches, Heroes and Magic

Unread postby McSwan » 10 Feb 2015, 10:13

Hey Y'all,

As a big fan of HOMM and the new ( and old!) Kings Bounty series, I wondered what HOMM style game would be like in real time rather than turn based.
So I wrote one! I added slow time to mimic the effect of turn based strategy. Although the spiritual aim was to make it like real-time HOMM, it feels more like 5 man dungeon raid where you control all the characters.
Still, if your curious check out the demo-

You can download a demo here from the steam green light page:

or you can pick up the full version so far in a bundle here:

In a previous life I tried to beat Kings Bounty: Armoured Princes on impossible, no loss within 7 days. Eventually I gave up and concentrated on my game development skills instead.

Also I can remember downloading a map or two from here an eon ago.

Here's some general info:

Witches, Heroes and Magic is a game where you control a single witch who commands mighty armies, and summoned units. The game is real-time and has time slow so you can make strategic decisions, all while fighting on top of an ogre or other creatures. Also features an intuitive and fast battle system where you can choose how to attack and buff by pressing panels above units heads.

Lose your witch and the game is over, so the game is always edgy and risky. She can be sniped off units she has mounted, but she's more difficult to kill. You can stack units on top of each other like other games suck as Kings Bounty or Heroes of Might and Magic. This game bring that mechanic into real time.

Why is this not getting more recognition? Looks great and I hope you have kept this project alive!

With minimal help and investment this guy has created a very promising game.

Ubisoft with 1000x as much hours of experience, resources, manpower, etc. can't make a game even 10x as promising. Very sad.

Exactly! McSwan, if you´d like it, I would love to team up with you on creating a game as well! (I normally write stories for the project "Masters of Sighisoara") as I see that you have great potential! Looking more into the game right now!

Really great game, if you want more M&M fans to be interested post more on the forums and give the game a more Might and Magic style...
Na, That's not me...
