Damnnnn I think I have passed Fallout game 32 times.

Only made it through the 2 once though. I liked the one better :)

I wish there was a faster way of getting a Gattling Laser than beating up on Super Mutants.

I had Fallout 2 once, but I lost it!!!!

All I have now is the manual (which oddly seems to be the Fallout 1 manual with the wrong cover...)

And I found a great deal in Amazon.co.uk, Fallout Collection + Baldur's Gate Compilation for 17.96 pounds! Too bad they don't ship to Israel....

Well I played Fallout for the first time just before Oblivion came out. It's my all-time favorite rpg coming in just ahead of wizardry 8.

It is superbly constructed and really made me feel like I was the character. Funny too.

I am playing through Fallout 2 but I'm still early on in the game. It's good but I don't think I like it as much as the first one...even though they are almost exactly the same.

Oblivion was a disappointment after playing Fallout. Fallout has many more meaningful choices.

That car ticked me off. I managed to lose it somehow with a key item in the trunk. Had to restart. After that, I just walked and merrily killed anything on my way.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Do I like Fallout?

*looks at his avatar*

You know I think I do. It's in my top 5 games ever played and its sharing the number one position. Fallout 1 has the atmosphere never seen before (except wasteland) which is why I would call it better than 2. But F2 is better because it's bigger and has a bit more freedom due to it not having a time limit, oh and the companion system was much better than in 1.

Bethesda has paid 5.75 million dollars to Interplay for all rights (except fo a limited MMO right) to the Fallout series. They have already been developing Fallout 3 for several years.

Biggest discussion over at those fallout forums is what I excepted. Turnbased vs Reatime w/ pause.

I've only played Fallout for like 5min half a year ago. Walked over half the map and fought some scorpions. Died and quitted.

I liked the combat system. I hope they stay true to tactical turn based combat and let us control each party member.

I hope so too.

Fallout is an awesome game. I loved the first one, liked the second one (didn't have the same feel, IMO), and hope that the third one will build on all the good things the first two have to offer. :D

What kind of combatsystem do you want for Fallout 3? On the official forum there's a poll with four choices:
  • Turnbased
  • Realtime
  • Realtime with pause
  • Don't care
I switched to page 2 and noticed that the votes had increased with 20 and also noticed that the topic was created yesterday! Forum is brandnew. Switched page again and another 15 votes had been cast! Pretty weird feeling being on a forum with so much activity after being in this abandoned hall for such a long time ;)

Turnbased has a clear lead with 153 votes last time I checked. Second was Realtime with pause. Think Realtime was 3rd. It must be since all old Fallout fans came to that forum. Very surprised over that their numbers became so high so quickly but also since Fallout 1 & 2 is an old game. Didn't expect old fans to find the new board so quickly, especially since most of them are probably grownups now with jobs and families.

Turnbased, definitely turnbased.

I consider that if the battle system is changed, then it won't have the Fallout "feel". Besides, why fix something that isn't broken? :)

Fallout is a cult classic. I'm not suprised by the activity at all. It is going to be a huge, huge seller. Other game companies were crazy not to buy the rights to the franchise when they could.

Oh, I'll reapeat my with for combat:
trun based, tactical, with control over every party member.

Otherwise, it won't really be Fallout.

Edit: The fallout3 teaser page is up. Right now it just links to the forums.

Kinda sad that franschising means so much today....and when I hear that a sequel to game x is announced then I expect an updated version of the previous games just like Heroes V is to Heroes III. Changing core mechanics should require that the number is not used and instead a name. Like if the new heroes game would be an adventuregame it should be called Heroes: Adventures and not Heroes VI. Calling a adventuregame in the heroes universe Heroes VI would to me be a cheap, dishonest way of making an extra buck.

I can't wait to see the old Fallout fans reactions though if Fallout 3 turns out to be like KotOR (Realtime w/ pause).
